Slifer the Sky Dragon has yet to appear. Can they be useful? evilfusion Posted November 21, 2010 Report Share Posted November 21, 2010 Obelisk is funny, but Ra is just plain pathetic. 3 Tributes for a 0/0, but if you pay a dangerous number of LP, it has ATK, or you can pay 1000 to nuke monsters. Not worth it at all. Being Special Summoned was Ra's whole shtick in the anime, and Obelisk was allowed to be Specialed, so they're just stupid. Obelisk can be SS'd just as he can in the show, but his effect was nerfed. [/quote] Correction: Ra CANNOT be Special Summoned. Line one of its text. They took away its Special Summon ability, took away its ATK= combined ATK of Tributes ability, only allowed its LP -> ATK ability when it's Summoned, but kept its 1000 LP = monster nuke. So it's a worthless card whose only use is for a bizarre OTK. In the games, Ra could be Special Summoned and pay LP for ATK, and that was a more fun version. [/quote] "Tribute 2 monsters to destroy all monsters your opponent controls and deal 4000 damage to your opponent's Life Points" is the effect. [/quote] And don't forget that you could defuse its ATK points into your Life Points. Ra is crap. If it had Obelisk's "God abilities" (dies at the end of the turn it is Special Summoned and can't be targeted) and could point-to-point transfer when it was Special Summoned as well, then it would have been a lot better and actually playable.
