Professional Duelist
I'm seeing a lot of hype on this card and I'm wondering if I'm the only that doesn't see it worth putting it in the extra. First of all, first effect is REALLY situational. You can attack 0-5 times. Chances are you'll be hitting a lot of 0-1 tuners. You have to be pretty damn lucky to hit 2+. The second effect is barely better than Stardust if not worse. The only good thing is that it serves as a big wall. The third effect is something I actually like about SSD. Half the time this is the only reason Stardust goes down. Also serving as a Necro Gardna.
evilfusion
Shooting Star is good, but Scar-Red is better. I like it, and use it in my Flamvell deck because it's fun, but it's not the best card ever made. It has its weaknesses, and some of that weakness includes luck. But Formula Synchron's easy to get out, and you get a draw from it, and there may be situations where you can have a Stardust and a Formula... It's not required and not every deck can use it. shadowferret
I like Scar-Red Rova Dragon better myself, too. This guy is decent. I couple times I found that Stardust tributing itself and coming back was better than Shooting Star's effect, when the opponent had multiple board wipes. So, it's meh to me, but first turn could be tough. Also, it really disappointed me that both of them didn't keep their effects like Necro Gardna, as it was in the anime. Zextra
Red Nova Dragon is by far better than this thing... Getting Formula Synchron out is already a pain, and it usually wastes at least 2 tuners just to get this thing out. I agree that it is ridiculously situational. In decks that don't rely completely on Synchros, the Tuner effect is just dead weight... I like the last effect, but it's also on Red Nova Dragon, so it's not so special.... In comparison, Red Nova Dragon usually comes into play with 5000+ ATK, since it requires at least 3 Tuners to summon it (unless you somehow reuse one of the tuners). Plus, it doesn't have to Tribute itself to prevent its destruction by card effects (though it isn't universal). Then, it shares the attack negation effect, which is helpful. All in all, I don't like Shooting Star as a card...I think it's a cool card, just not very useful...
TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
*gloats with my Shooting Star Dragon playmat* Its good, just not that good. We have had too many duplicates of this topic already. But hey, its still fun to discuss its almost balanced nature in comparison to Stardust Dragon. ~British Soul~
red nova dragon > this.reason, red nova gets more power from tuners, and this card might end up not attacking that turn (it's just in the anime yusei gets 4+ attacks most of the time)

Dries965
Fish decks are one of the few deck, who are quitte easily able to get him out, of course red nova is preffered, but problem remains there are not enough tuners left in deck to let him attack. EHN.
Red Nova > Shooting Star Dragon. They're both easily summoned in a Flamvell Deck, but Red Nova is easier on others.
White Hollow
Red Nova gains more ATK power and might be easier to pwn someone but combined with a good deck Shooting Stardust can also work preety good
Sephiroth_The_Legend
Shooting Star is suprisingly spammable in Quickdraw. It's effects aren't great, but when pushing for game, i heard 3300 ATK is cool.....
King of Nothing
Well, I didn't know if it's been said on this topic or not, but apparantly Red Nova > Shooting Stardust Anyways, Shooting is a fun card and nothing more. Just like a lot of the advanced forms of the main characters' cards. They're for the lols.
.Nu-13
Eh, YCM... Red Nova is better than Shooting Star, but it needs more resources. The only decks that can play it effectively are Flamvells, Cloudians, and maye Frogs. Shooting Star can be used in any deck that runs Level 1 Tuners. Scraps, DebuHime, Fableds and stuff. Now, tell me, which of the decks I mentioned are better?
evilfusion
Though I will add that Shooting Star Dragon + Red Nova = hilarious. Unfortunately, they share the same weaknesses. 1) Shooting Star can only negate destruction effects and only once per turn. D-Prison or spamming destruction effects will kill it off. 2) Neither of them are immune to bounce, spin, RFG. Only destruction. 3) Their timings, while they can protect other monsters from being attacked, is not flexible, so it can be worked around. *Obligatory note that the RL Accel Synchros are useless against the cards they're supposed to counter: Machine Emperors*
Mugendramon
I'd have loved Yusei to say "F*ck! I drew no Tuners! I can't attack!" and so lost. But of course, the series would not be as interesting, would it?
Toffee.
YCM, are you guys off the ball today or what? This is Shutingu Sutar Doragon! You need to have a Clear Mind when you play this! And even then, the ones who can play this are the ones who BELIEVE IN NEEEEEEXUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

Father Wolf
Only go into Shooting Star on your opponents turn make them try and waist something like book or mind control or when they try and enter their battle phase. =/ i only run this in my extra Deck for lulz because Scraps can make it. evilfusion
I expect because the dedication of an Assault deck would be limited by the addition of lower level monsters needed to Summon Formula Synchron.
Mugendramon
If we're speaking about Assault Modes, then hell, how d'you intend to get a Synchro Tuner? Waste Deck Space? As far as I know, there aren't many Level 1Tuners that would actually fit in an Assault Deck (there might be some that I'm unaware of, but as far as I know...). Second, why not run Red-Nova instead? It's basically the same (if not easier) to Summon it than this crap. AND Red-Nova's effect is far more useful than this card's.
BDKMRV
I do have Flamvell Baby and Flamvell Poun. That's a level 2 synchro.
