Lets discuss Crystal Beasts.

Really though, they have some good stuff. [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Ancient_City_-_Rainbow_Ruins"]Rainbow Ruins[/url] is interesting...and they have [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Crystal_Beacon"]pretty[/url] [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Rare_Value"]cool[/url] [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Crystal_Beacon"]support.[/url] And of course other stuff that isn't as good...

But then, of course, we have the Abundance OTK. Fun-fun.

Anyway, discuss dem CB's.

Abundance is annoying as hell. I just set a bunch of chainable Spells and Traps so when they Abundance they get back 1 card or fewer.

They need to replace Falcon, and they'd be 20% better on the spot.

Doesn't work. Cards don't get removed from the field until the chain has fully resolved. Your cards will still count towards Abundance unless an effect removes them from the field during the chain (like MST, etc).

Crystal Beasts have a cool mechanic and a lot of good support. The problem is that the Crystal Beasts themselves are bad.

-Sapphire Pegasus is easily the best, with the highest ATK of Crystal Beasts (1800), and the ability to search any CB and put in the S/T zone. Must be run at 3, no questions.
-Cobalt Eagle is terrible, at 1400, and it bounces a CB to the top of the deck. Only use is to recycle Sapphire Pegasus.
-Emerald Tortoise's effect is pretty meh, switching an ATK position CB to defense. Its 2000 DEF is its greatest feature.
-Topaz Tiger is okay, being a 1600 that becomes a 2000 if it attacks a monster.
-Amber Mammoth is all right, at 1700 ATK and can force the opponent to attack it if they attack a CB.
-Amythest Cat is nice, being a 1200 three star (searchable by Rescue Cat) that can halve its ATK to attack directly.
-Ruby Carbuncle is awesome. When it's Special Summoned, all CBs in the S/T zone can be Special Summoned.

But Cat's banned...and there isn't any reason to run Carbuncle because of Abundance.

That wasn't my point. I was judging the CBs on their effects. Amethyst only gets more points because it WAS searchable by Cat, and during the End Phase, you get 2 Crystals. And I know Carbuncle isn't used much because of Abundance, but its effect is one of the better ones.

The wiki gives [i]TERRIBLE[/i] advice on how to build Crystal Beasts.

.....Crystal Beasts though, are pretty fun to play.
Especially if you maindeck a bunch of equips like Mage Power and Crystal Release
Its actually not that bad of a build really. A little slow, but its pretty consistent

One of the most fun Decks I have ever played .. It was before I started "learning the serious meta", as they say, the day I found out about Lightsworns, when they were in their glorious time ..

Crystal beasts are incredibly fun to play; much variety in the gameplay and all

On the topic: I like Crystal Beasts. Back when they fist came out, they were really popular and I would rage every time I saw Crystal Abundance played. Today they're just a fun deck to use in casual duels.
