Scrap Archfiend

Okay, seriously, it should have been a Machine. I don't care if non-obvious types are part of the Scrap gimmick. :/

Anyway, discuss. How much play does this see in reality? I don't keep in touch with the meta as much as I should.

It's a generic, non-effect 7 star Synchro with 2600 ATK. It's a powerful monster, can be used for Gaia Drake, must be run in Scraps as another option for Chimera, and can beat out Stardust. I usually dont bother making room for it in my Extra Deck, since Black Rose or Ancient Fairy had do what I want with 7 stars, but a good card nontheless.

Not much to discuss because it doesn't have an effect.

I think the main reason they created it was an excuse to say they are trying to support Fiends better. There hasn't been any Fiend support in a long while. It's better to run Thought Ruler unless you're using a deck that benefits more from using Fiends, or if you're using Gaia.

ITT: Scrap Archfiend ahs 2600 ATK.

What would making it a machine really help it with? To use Limiter Removal for a 5400 ATK beatstick? The only reason people would run this is so if it hits the grave in a non-scrap deck, than Scrap Dragon can actually grab something when dieing.

It exists because Chimera + Goblin can only make this. It's generic because if it wasn't, it'd be virtually unplayable and nobody would go to the sneak preview (or so lolnami thinks).

Apparently this card has a +12 Aura of Idiocy.

It's useful as a throw-in card if you can summon 7's without much difficulty in your deck (such as I can in my Ratbox), but otherwise it's not worth it.

as far as 7 stars go, this one is fairly decent. 2600 ATK lets it run over alot of heavily played stuff (barring Goyo and Scrap Dragon)
and generic is always good.

only really needed in certain decks though as Black Rose will often take this guys spot.

Well, IMO, there aren't any good 7 general Synchros.. I mean, you can summon Arcanite Magician to blow 2 cards, but get nothing (1800 DEF) or you can get Black Rose and either blow all cards and get nothing or don't blow cards and get a 2400 beatstick. Archfiend is a 2700 beatstick .. meh ..

As a note, I find it funny how you can get a 2800 ATK beatstick with a very nice effect (points at Goyo Guardian) for level 6, while this is a level 7 beatstick with no effect and 2700 ATK ..

Goyo is debatably broken BECAUSE it's a level 6 generic Synchro with 2800 ATK and a good effect. It's not a good comparison for the strength of other Synchros because it stands off to the side in terms of balance.
