Excess monsters are just an add-on to effect monsters, like Spirit, Gemini, and Tuner are (Vanilla tuners also exist, shoosh) If Konami wanted to be cool, they would give them a new card boarder. ...But they didnt. EDIT: Red - Slifer Ownage - Effect Yellow - Normal Green - Spell Blue - Ritual Purple - Fusion Magenta - Trap Pink - Transformation, but that only exists in the manga. This new series is obviously going to want to flaunt these new monsters and it wouldn't come across well if they were plain colored effect monsters. But, sadly, they're just Fusions in the TCG/OCG. Personally, I find it hard to believe that the Excess/Exceed Monsters are going to be orange, so I would peg them as red or black (Dark Synchro Monsters, to me, being dark gray) Well, if 5D's is anything to go by, then Starter Deck 2011 might have a couple, or else the first booster pack of the new series which, again, assuming the same formula as 5D's, would be around 2 weeks after the first episode of ZEXAL. By that, I mean, it might be half white and half purple, since an excess summon is kind of like a synchro and fusion combined (in that it is as slow as a standard fusion but focuses on exact levels like a synchro). Also, going to call this one - De-Excess Spell/Quickplay Send one Excess monster on your side of the field to the graveyard. Then, special summon all monsters used to excess summon that monster.
