Malefic Paradox Dragon

Recommended Posts

Malefic Paradox Dragon | *10 | DARK
[Dragon/Synchro/Effect]
"Malefic Parallel Gear" + 1 or more non-Tuner "Malefic" monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can select and Special Summon 1 Synchro Monster from your Graveyard, ignoring the Summoning conditions. All face-up monsters your opponent controls lose ATK equal to the ATK of the Special Summoned monster.
ATK/4000 DEF/4000

Anime effect for now, but the card is confrimed. Discuss what it's effect may be and what will be its materials. I guess DARK + DARK...

With its current summoning conditions, impossible to summon. inb4WATDUYUMEENZ?

Its effects are nearly useless since it doesn't work with Stardust Dragon removed by Malefics.
I wouldn't be surprised if it were changed beyond recognition. Discussing it is pretty much pointless until the card's text is confirmed.

Guys, the effect TC posted is official.
Artwork, yo:

My guess is the effect is a total BKSS.
"Unless its Malefic Paradox Dragon, no other card in existence can Special Summon a Removed Stardust that was Removed by Malefic Stardust"
^Official rulings^
Yep, I called it.

Malefic Paradox Special Summons from the Graveyard.

I believe Malefic Parallel Gear was confirmed to say "the other Synchro Material is one Malefic from the hand"

Malefic Paradox still can't special summon a Synchro that was not properly summoned first, despite its "ignoring Summoning Conditions" line, as is the rule for all nomis. Level Modulation says "ignore conditions", but it still can't Summon Horus 8 that was Foolish Burial'd.

Off the top of my head, that line permits Trident Dragion to be Special Summoned, though.

So wait, here are my questions:
• What is the confirmed effect? Does the card have at least the basic gist of the anime effect? Does it still weaken all the opponent's monsters?
• If it does, does it summon from Graveyard or RFG? It might say graveyard because the Sin monsters sent their counterpart to the Grave in the movie, but it might say RFG because that's where the Sin monsters sent their counterparts there in the T/OCG.
• If it does summon from RFG, will this get a BKSS saying it can summon the Stardust Dragon that was removed?

Until the ruling is confirmed to allow it, it's not a BKSS. It's a BYCMSS. You're speculating on something based on how the effect worked in the movie, compared to how it works in a real life manner. Malefic Stardust is the only Sin monster to use a Synchro, as Sin Cyber End use a Fusion and the rest pull from the deck.

Based on Sin Paradox's card text, it does not permit a summoning to override the Nomi Rule requiring monsters to be properly Summoned first. Not to mention, even if it did, you still need to return the RFGed Stardust to the Graveyard, since this Summons from the Graveyard.

As far as I can tell, Sin Paradox only will Special Summon Synchros that were properly Summoned first, ignoring the restrictions of ones that state they can't be Special Summoned except by Synchro Summon, such as Trident Dragion.

I just noticed that Malefic Parallel and Sin Paradox dont require field spells.

"Malefic Parallel Gear" + 1 non-Tuner "Malefic" monster
When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can select 1 Synchro Monster in either player's Graveyard, and Special Summon it. There can only be 1 face-up Malefic Paradox Dragon on the field. If Malefic World is not face-up on the field, destroy this card.

Congratulations on killing the card. I'll be playing with Sin Truth for sure, not this.

Are they so scared of breaking Sins that they had to saddle them with millions of restrictions?

For Sin Blue Eyes and Red Eyes, you have to run their non-Sin counterparts. Sin Stardust and Sin Cyber End dont cost any deck space to summon, just an Extra deck slot. Sin Rainbow I'm not sure about yet.

All of them die with no Field Spell. All of them restrict attacks except by themselves. All of them insist only one can be on the field at once.

Sin Truth breaks the formula by not restricting attacks and being super easy to bring out.

And their Synchro requires a specific tuner and Sin Stardust or Sin Blue-Eyes in hand, excepting level modifying cards, and will die if a SPECIFIC field spell isn't active. What. The. Hell?!

So the fact that he requires Sin World specifically gave me a rather awkward yet still potentially interesting idea.

Dragon Canyon to dump Sin Truth, then Sin Parallel Gear + Sin Stardust/Sin Blue Eyes in hand into Sin Paradox but since Paradox self-destructs instantly due to no Sin World (I really don't see much point in running Sin World), sorta easy way to get out Sin Truth? Pretty sure that should work (I see no reason why it shouldn't since nothing says the Sins being destroyed by their own card effects don't count). Iunno. It was just a random idea and I have no idea how practical it would really be since I'm not entirely sure how one goes about building a Sin Deck given their restrictions and such.
