ITT: I tried see YGO as MTG and Fail

Recommended Posts

Short and Sweet:

Let's say that we adapt the color interaction from MTG to Yugimonz Attributes...that means...Enemies Atributes will have counter strategies to themselves...and allied Attributes will have a better time working with themselves...

Sorta like this

How this works: Basicly the chart shows that 2 Attributes that are in front of each other are natural enemies and the 2 around their natural enemies are also enemies while the 2 that are around it are allied

DARK's Natural Enemy is LIGHT, being also WATER and EARTH its enemies. And it will have FIRE and WIND as allies

In teory it should change the game state at all but!!! it will modify the way attributes may or not work along and may offers tools to the Game that somehow link these attributes

Examples of this:
Dark Simmorg cassualy is an example of this...by the Graphic DARK and WIND are allied Attributes, it makes DARK and WIND monster work togheter and allows for Fun/Good/Awesome combos
The same thing was made Before unsuccesfully with WATER and FIRE attributes...but was made horribly wrong

NOTE: FOR THOSE WHO DONT WANT TO READ ALL THIS HERE IS A RESUME;

SOME ATTRIBUTES WORKS BETTER TOGHETHER AND ALSO HAVE AN INCREASED AMOUNT OF HATE FOR OTHER ATTIBUTES.

wait i still don't get how this effects/doesn't effect the game
Basicly...it only makes it so we have say a WATER monster that works Better if combined with WIND or LIGHT cards...whose theme is sorta alike....and get Better rewards for playing them togheter...

Or that things like DARK has Hate effects that helps sidecking agains for example LIGHT, EARTH and WATER...

And then there's Chaos that doesn't follow your chart at all... which I guess in turn causes Chaos to your chart and to YUGIOH ITSELF

ITS ALL MAKING SENSE NOW!
Actually...that's why is CHAOS in the first place...

YEAH!

That interaction between Natural Enemies colors is also contemplated.

@Monkeymadman: It can be anything from Generic Fusions and sorta non-Generics Synchros to cards that gives you Effects more powerfull than usual to playing those colorsAttributes togheter.

I sorta added more elements to the Chart to make it funnier

Because YGO wasn't built this way, you need a sphere to properly describe all possible interactions.
I know it wasn't...that's why this is a Hypotetical Discussion...
IDK what do you mean by an Sphere

Sapphire Pegasus = Wind
Amber Mammoth = Earth
Topaz Tiger = Earth
^they work together :P
They are enemies =/= They can't work togheter

It's super effective!

I see how this works, but I don't want this being used in NGD because this'll mean were going back in time when YGO used to be played like that.

When¿

Let us not copy another TCG's gimmicks.

Already made somehow...too late...(In4Umididitlongago)

Well in the anime YGO was played like this before (first 30 episodes I think), along in the older games (ei. Sacred Cards) and I can see why DIVINE isn't included as an ATT because it has no weakness. Not only did the ATT matter but also the type of monster. (ei. Winged Beast killed Warrior monster, FIRE Winged Beast and WATER Warrior both die) <- though on the 2nd example I'm 45% sure WATER wins...

So here would be a good example, -

Flood
Quickplay Spell
Activate only when a FIRE monster is summoned while you control a face-up WATER monster. Destroy all face-up FIRE monsters on the field.

Fire Aura
Equip Spell
Equip only to a FIRE monster. Increase the attack and defense of a monster equipped with this card by 1000 when it attacks or is attacked by a WATER monster. When the equipped monster would be destroyed by a card effect, you can destroy this card instead.

Its water attacking fire, then fire hatching a plan to get rid of water's plan.

You should, however, change water and light. Instead of Movement you should make it Holy.

To make it simple. Have yugioh monsters produce Resistance and Weakness depending on the Attributes they battle. (that would cover the part of "enemies" I think[?])

I think rules need to be further explained with more details and specific examples (along with their reasoning) for me to understand the concept O_o (and how "allies" actually help each other)
