Right now we're in a format where over half of the decks turtle up (set darksoul/ryko/dupe frog/spy/dandylion/hamster/emmers) and they also wait until they draw into Cold Wave/Trunade and explode. Not to mention there's not that many targets for BTH anymore, even with Samurais (most of their first summons are going to be either Kageki or Kagemusha, and Grandmaster isn't necessarily a good BTH target). Plus Trap Stun, Seven Tools, and Decree are popular cards right now. The card is still good v.s. Light Gemini and BW, but that does not solidify a position in the main deck. Boggart and Faultroll are their primary BTH targets but BTHing Boggart is usually dumb. Plants sit on Ryko, Dandy, or Hamster until they drop 3+ Synchros for game, albeit they can make randy Black Roses and drop Caius's to maintain dominance on the board. Caius is their only legit BTH target. Fish OTK waits until Fish OTK happens. They don't let BTH happen. You won't rip BTH on GKs that often, maybe when they summon Commandment or something but you won't have any monsters to counter with anyway. GBs, BW, Light Gemini, and Frog Monarch are the only decent matchups for this card, but not really Frog Monarchs imo. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Konami, why do [i]insist[/i] on wanting to use decks that get crippled by CCV? Something I've noticed is that with the influx of new players suddenly this card is very high in demand. You can't even get people to trade common versions anymore. (not my problem - mine are gold rare ) This card is so painful in multiples and it can really make a game lopsided in a hurry. But not so much in this current format - the power themes can synchro for whatever they want at will and most run book of moon in triplets - stardust is immune to it and he can negate the daylights out of it. Still I like it at 2 or I could even see it at 1. It punishes you at practically no cost for just summoning. It can be situational - dead draw at times. I remember when it was free use, a little annoying but i never lost a strategy because of it. But ok, it got semi limited because it destroys almost every monster of the game. But you're right, against most decks this format, Bottomless can't really do anything, it will either just get popped by MST or something or just played round.
