Byakk opened with a hand of Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner, Mirror Force, X-Saber Pashuul, Plaguespreader Zombie, and Pot of Avarice. He drew into Foolish Burial. He spent a while thinking about what his opening play would be, but he went with setting X-Saber Pashuul and Mirror Force. He ended his turn.

Nauske drew his sixth card. He opened by Special Summoning Guardian Eatos! He then activated E - Emergency Call to search his deck for Elemental Hero Stratos and Normal Summoned it. Stratos added Elemental Hero Voltic to Nauske's hand. Unsure of what Byakk's backrow was, he passed.

Byakk drew into Pot of Duality, which revealed Judgment Dragon, Torrential Tribute, and Green Gadget. He chose Judgment Dragon. He couldn't do anything amazing at the moment, so he just set Plaguespreader and ended, hoping to lure Nauske into Mirror Force. Nauske drew, summoned Elemental Hero Neos Alius, and attacked right into Mirror Force, destroying all of his monsters! He ended his turn with a clear field. Byakk drew into Bottomless Trap Hole. He summoned Lumina, set Bottomless, and in the End Phase he milled Machina Fortress, Dragunity Phalanx, and Sakuretsu Armor.

On Nauske's next turn, he activated Dimensional Fissure and summoned Crusader of Endymion, which was swiftly destroyed by Bottomless Trap Hole. With no options, he passed. Byakk drew for turn. With the field he had, he could've made a Black Rose play, to get rid of the Dimensional Fissure, but it would cost him his Lightsworn for Judgment Dragon and his Plaguespreader. He switched Lumina to Defense Position and removed Gladiator Beast Murmillo from the top of his deck, followed by Allure of Darkness and Dragon Canyon, which were both sent to the Graveyard. Nauske was up again, and he had Beast King Barbaros which attacked and removed Byakk's Lumina. Byakk surely wasn't going to make a Judgment Dragon play now. Nauske ended his turn with a seemingly favorable game state, although he didn't know what Byakk's set monsters were.

Byakk was being stared down by Beast King Barbaros and Dimensional Fissure, which was quite a problem, since most of the cards in his deck rely on the Graveyard! However, his set cards could change the duel. He drew into Gladiator Beast Bestiari and Normal Summoned it, and proceeded to flip up his set X-Saber Pashuul! He then tuned and removed from play both of them to Synchro Summon Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier! A discarded Pot of Avarice got rid of Dimensional Fissure for the turn, and then he played Foolish Burial to send Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn to his graveyard and discarded Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor to bounce Barbaros! But he wasn't done there. He flipped up his other set card, Plaguespreader Zombie, which was then tuned with Brionac to make Thought Ruler Archfiend, which took 2700 out of Nauske's life points. He passed.

Nauske drew a card, set a card to each zone, activated Dimensional Fissure again, and play went back to Byakk. Byakk drew into Nobleman of Crossout! That removed Nauske's set Crusader of Endymion and then Thought Ruler dealt 2700 to Nauske. It was Nauske's turn again, and once again he set a card to each zone.

Byakk's next card was Giant Trunade, which got rid of Nauske's backrow for one turn, which was all he needed. He then removed from play his Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn and Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor from the Graveyard to Special Summon Blackwing Armed Wing. Next, he placed his inhand Judgment Dragon on top of his deck to Special Summon Plaguespreader Zombie, which he tuned with Blackwing Armed Wing to Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon! Stardust ripped through Nauske's set Barbaros, and Thought Ruler dealt the final 2700 for game!
