darkwolf777 Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 Based on the way the card text is currently written: "When a Tuner Monster is Summoned" means at the time when a Tuner Monster is successfully summoned. This means that cards like Trap Hole, Bottomless Trap Hole, etc cannot be activated. This also means that the Summon of the Tuner CAN be negated by cards like Solemn Warning (because by that time, the Summon is NOT successful yet). "When a Synchro Summon is performed" would mean that the Summon is not yet successful. This would mean that the Synchro Summon CANNOT be negated by cards such as Solemn Warning BUT when a Synchro Summon is Successful, that would mean that the summon is no longer being "performed", and therefore, cards can be chained to the timing of the summon, such as Bottomless Trap Hole. Basically, the summon of a Tuner Monster CAN be negated, but cards CANNOT activate to its successful summon. Synchro Summons CANNOT be negated, but cards CAN activate to its Successful Summon. Since it is a Field Spell, the effect applies to both players. Then again, no card has used the term "performed" before, maybe it could allow for cards like Bottomless Trap Hole to activate as well, but to me it sounds more like "When the Synchro Summon is being performed" doesn't include "When the Synchro Summon is done performing".
