Has this ever been discussed? do you think he even plays his own game? does he go to tournaments and such? what kind of deck do you think he would play, and do you think you could beat him?

I could see him using something like a dark magician deck with a mixture of DARK, fiends, and spellcasters. what do you guys think?

If he's in charge of banlist creation and card creation, I doubt he's a very good player.

DAD, Dark Hole, Solemns, Giant Trunade, Stardust Dragon, Sangan, for fun. Yes, he can make decent cards. Some people just like to critisize to make themselves feel stronger, but that's just philosophy.

Anyways...

I honestly had no idea who this guy was until I read some of the posts and came to the conclusion that he's the guy that made Yu-Gi-Oh!, and thus is partly responsible for this forum's existence.

Anyhow, Wikipedia didn't say anything about him creating the entire card game himself, he's just a mangaka.

He can draw very well.

I'm not sure he draws all the pics himself. If he does draw all pics, he's kinda no-life. Because theres about 100+ new cards with new pics in every set, and theres about 2 new sets a year...

I'm pretty sure he's too busy too play his own game. He may have played it in the start, but because he was there from the start, he might as well got tired.

If, by good, you mean he would easily 'win at yugimanz', it has nothing to do with it. No matter how he made this game, the only things one need to do to win at yugimanz are still to build a deck that does well in the environment, don't make misplays and have luck. He won't be in a disadvantage in any of those factors.

But surely you'll know better: being good at the game is basically understanding the game, right? How can he not understand the game when he defines it? I think that, as unbalanced as the game may be, we should respect Takahashi a bit more. It's his game after all.

Most likely he doesn't duel. -.-

This would be the most likely explanation in my eyes. I mean, companies don't make their products because they're fun to play with, they make them to get money from the people who buy them.

It helps a lot that some people are willing to pay $800+ for a deck of 40 cards.
