Heart of the Cards

Recommended Posts

Basically, have you ever lucksacked? Yes. I always think "I wanna top such and such a card" and I top it. The same happens when I think "OMG what if I top such and such a card. I lose!". The second one happened in Top 16 at locals. It was time on the round, my opponent had 3500 and could get me down to 3600 just as long as I topped a monster. There were 5 cards left in my deck and 4 of them were monsters. Guess what happened...

WC10 I drew Yellow Gadget, summoned it, then played Torrential to nuke the field and destroy my opponent's The Fool. My Machina Fortress survived since it was equipped with Gearframe. I then played Heavy to destroy my opponent's Sanctuary and Mirror Force, then dumped Force for another Fortress and swung for game.

I'm trying to remember. Yes, I went against X-Sabers once with my Machinas. I won the first duel by a little. The next one he sided against me, and killed me.

This last duel is where it gets interesting. I can't remember it very well, but, he started off with an incredible hand in which he could kill me next turn. I went first did something, I think I got Gearframe out and went for Fortress, set Geartown and something else maybe. Next turn, or rather, the turn after that, he would have all he needed to Synchro into quite a few monsters and then kill me. He destroyed my Gearframe and my backrow trap I think. From what I remember, I knew he was going to win.

He had a few traps in his backrow now to make things worst. There was only 1 card in my Deck that could help me. I wasn't dramatic about it, but I laid my hand over my Deck and drew slower than usual, because it was either I win, or lose. I drew Heavy Storm, the card I needed. That led me to a s/t free attack as well as a massive set up. I got a bunch of Fortresses out, another Gearframe, and an AGGD. Something like that and I no longer had a hand. I OTK'd him.

ridiculous.

Beating EBI's, Hopeless Dragons, by pure luck. I got Area B, Peace, WMC, SLR, Marsmallon as my monster and a facedown Dark bribe. The EBI deck user used Black Rose then attempted to nuke. I chain with road then he chains with bandit then I chain with bribe. Thank god I drew bribe on my previous turn. Hopeless dragons deck user uses Royal Decree. I activate typhoon. He chains with bribe. I draw 1 card and draw twister then game with Meteor of Prominence.

Happens all the time to me, especially with my Vacuumen-centered deck.

My opponent was running Quillbolt Loop and he had IIW and Mass Driver. He Summoned a Junk Synchron and ended his turn and told me the one card he had in his hand. I shat my pants.

I knew I had to draw into a Duplicate to force game. I had Celfon on my field equipped with clear water and a Bind faceup. Guess what I drew into.

I summoned a scopen from my hand and dialed a 1 from Celfon. Guess what I picked.

SS'd Vaccuumen in Defense.

Machine Dupe into 2 more Vacuumen.

I suck in his Synchron and tuned Vaccuumen with scopen and another Vacuumen for Catastor.

DA for game and wiped out his 1900 remaining LP. He shat his pants.

I do those sort of insanely good draws all the time, and yes, more than once being "I need card X to win". Draw card X next turn.

My Chain Burn loves this tendency so much. Some of that deck's best wins came from me staking the entire game on a draw. Like one time I activated Reckless Greed, when I was being about to be attacked for game with no cards on field or hand. My opponent only had like 600 LP and I had about 3000, but was facing down a full field. I used one Battle Fader already that duel, and a second was on the bottom of my (25+) card deck courtesy of Good Goblin Housekeeping. So I activate Reckless due to it being literally the only thing I can do.

I draw Battle Fader and Poison of the Old Man.

The inversion came from a duel with me using Infernities. I had assured victory next turn, with one card in my hand (Infernity Launcher), but about four monsters in my Graveyard. Literally, the ONLY card that would screw me over was if I drew DAD, which interestingly is a card I dont think goes well in Infernities anyway.

I draw DAD. I've never put that card in an Infernity deck again.

Other Infernity plays have been where I had gotten super poor luck until then, barely getting any monsters, being reduced to 100 LP, and having next to no options, my facedown cards being Solemn Judgment, Return From the DD, Infernity Barrier, and Trap Stun, facing down three Synchros. I draw Infernity Avenger, Summon it, use Return for my Infernity Mirage (removed with Infernity Break). Opponent uses Torrential, I use Trap Stun, wanting to save Solemn and Barrier for later, rather than negate one thing and have to use Stun later in the turn.

Tune for Formula, draw 1 (Infernity Archfiend). By the end of the turn, I had Shooting Star Dragon, One Hundred Eyes Dragon, Infernity Archfiend, a Solemn, 2 Barriers, and a Break. I won with 50 LP.

This wasnt so long ago

I was running morphs I cant remember what the field was but I needed Goyo to safe my self

I draw into reborn and look at my hand

Reborn, Junk Box, Junk Box

I check my grave and see I have 2 Celfon.

I knew it was all up to them

I need to get out 1 Boarden/1 Celfon and 1 Scopen (Remotens were used up)

And I only had 2 Scopen, 1 Boarden and 1 Celfon in my deck while my deck was over 25 cards.

Special Summon 1st Celfon and use its effect, I roll a 2 <_<

Reveal Scopen and something else XD

Special another Celfon with Junk Box

Use effect and roll 1 <_<

I revealed BOARDEN.

I was like FTW.

I took control of game but at the end opponent got rid of Goyo but I won in the end.
