Post YGO questions there next time. But to answer your question:

Exodia's effect is a win condition. It does not activate and it cannot be negated. In addition, if you use Allure of Darkness and draw to have all five pieces of Exodia in your hand, but have not yet removed a DARK monster from play, you do not win until you resolve Allure of Darkness by removing the right card from play.

Nothing about Exodia has to be fair. It is simply inconsistant. If you have a friend that always beats you with Exodia, change your deck to counter his. He will realize that neither of you are having fun and find a new deck.

Since when has YGO been fair? The one with the better cards wins, it's as simple as that.

On your first turn its just pure luck, but if not then it takes pure dedication (well not really) to get all 5 pieces in you hand.

The cards have been banned a few times, but are limited so the chances of your opponent getting the pieces is 5/40-60...pretty much all the decks have been netdecked in some way so it doesn't take much effort...

With each new generation of cards they make, they give them stronger and stronger effects, so the new cards > old cards.... not that fair...
see your point but  am still thing that those card back then were old so to put them with a new card that is just retarded B) see convinced yet!? :P

Not really. Some cards are going to inevitably be better them others, fairness is not possible in a card game. If someone has more money to get better cards than you do, then they're going to win.
true for that i understud but it cuz they got better fair cards than wat i have :P:lol:

You're pissing me off. One learn to type and second Exodia isn't a cheat or above the rules. Exodia' effect is a condition based around getting five cards in your hand at one exact moment. This isn't truly an effect it is a condition required to win. Therefore you can't use divine wrath because the possesser of the cards declares an automatic victory by revealing the cards. This isn't an effect. The best way to explain it is if you know what spell speed is then exodia is like spell speed four. Even though spell speed four doesn't exist it is the best way to explain what I mean. To conclude: no divine wrath cannot stop Exodia. Secondly Exodia isn't a cheat and it can be stopped. Once getting all five pieces it can still be stopped (only by deck out or your oppenent waits to declare victory) Cards that send it to the graveyard and remove it from play stop it. There are other cards to stop it as well. Exodia is already limited because people abuse its effect. Exodia also isn't above the rules becuase it was created by the Yu-gi-oh card staff. Anything created by them isn't above the rules. They make nothing above the rules. Thank you ~ The Reapers Shadow

what are talking about it has an Effect said on it God damn  D.W->card can stop a monster that has an effect :P
Divine Wrath ONLY stops monster effects That Activate. Exodia, which has been explained lots of times, does not start a chain, so it doesn't activate, meaning, Divine Wrath cannot stop him. So almost no matter what, when they have all 5 Pieces, they win.
Also, there are Effect monsters that have effects, and Effect monsters that have effects that aren't effects, so it cannot be negated.
Exodia, is kind of an example. One case in which they don't win is if they activate something like Allure of Darkness and is forced to remove a Piece if they drew all pieces and nothin' else, lol.
But yea, the newer cards have been better since the old ones, but Konami likes to make some cards that support the older cards and make them better, like Heart of the Underdog, since most monsters were Normal Monsters back then.

Exodia isn't above the rules. The fact that you're focusing on just getting the cards without having a solid defense makes it fair. Ex. 1st turn player: oh yea, I got one piece. Alright, alright, I'm gonna set this dekoichi then set this counter attack 2nd turn player: hmm, I play MST and [insert Infernity OTK here]

Okay people, you seriously need a TCG regular here that knows rulings.

I'll start with looking at Cyber Dragon. It might say it's an effect monster, but Cyber Dragon has no effect. The text on Cyber Dragon is a 'Summoning Condition', which cannot be negated as a card effect (Although the Summon could be negated by Black Horn of Heaven - Which cannot negate effects, by the way).

Common sense would tell you that something on that wall of text is an effect. In fact, Quickdraw Synchron has no effect. The effect to Summon it, and both other effects, are conditions The Summon cannot be negated by Divine Wrath, and the other two cannot be negated by Skill Drain. Sometimes the only way you can actually tell if the text on a card is an effect is by checking official rulings and the only sense behind it is "Because Konami says so". There's even a shortening, BKSS, because so many people are annoyed by the fact it doesn't make any sense, but it's the rules of the game, so accept it if you want to play.

Exoida has no effect and it cannot be negated. Is that explained now? It's just a condition from the hand.
Exodia is not impossible to beat, or even that hard to beat for many Decks. There is nothing stopping Exodia from being used in tournament play. I recently looked at the stats for a Japanese tournament with about 200 players. There were around 70 Blackwing Decks, 45 Six Samurai Decks, 25 Dandy Debris Decks, and 60 'other Decks'. There was not a single Exodia Deck in the 'other' Decks - and budget most certainly wasn't an issue to any player if you saw some of the Decklists.

First, make sure you're both following the up-to-date banlist, found, here. Specifically, if your opponent is using Pot of Greed, Graceful Charity, Magician of Faith, Temple of the Kings, Card of Safe Return, Witch of the Black Forest, Makyura The Destructor, Butterfly Dagger Elma, more than 1 Sangan, more than 1 Allure of Darkness or more than 1 Destiny Draw, then those are the cards that are most likely to make an Exodia Deck 'too good'.

Second, make sure your own Deck is up-to-scratch. Do you have the important cards of the format like Dark Hole and Monster Reborn in your Deck? They might not seem as useful against Exodia, but it's worth having. Most competitive Decks these days can quite easily win in the first five turns, if that, and have plenty of removal to waft past stall Decks without a second thought (if they're running a lot of continuous stall, Scrap Dragon is often an instant win if your Deck has any way to gain advantage.) I could go on, but Crab Helments Deck Building FAQ should be plenty of help right here.

Third, make sure your Side Deck is what you need. By the sounds of it, Exodia is your 'local threat', so you should have Exchange, Don Zaloog, White Magical Hat, D.D. Designator, Mind Crush, Protector of the Sanctuary, Card Destruction, Dragged Down into the Grave, or Morphing Jar.

If that still isn't enough, then respond with what else you need, hopefully I can provide it.

Fail. Exodia's effect is not a true effect. Exodia is a victory condition, which is not treated as an effect.
