Shizuku Oikawa Posted March 21, 2011 Report Share Posted March 21, 2011 I love how everyone is talking about Premature Burial, while this topic was about Monster Reborn. Too be honest, this is a dead draw early in the game, but is pretty awesome later when you have the right targets. Well, this card by itself can't just win games. I literally seen, someone completely destroying the other person with a ridiculous Deck, and the opponent top decks this card, with absolutely no good targets to make a comeback, or survive another turn. If nothing else, it lets me grab my opponent's big monsters I destroyed before. I did grab it one time when it would have saved me from losing, but my opponent had Archlord Krista so... Eibon1307 Posted March 22, 2011 Report Share Posted March 22, 2011 At my locals, Reborns are rarely used, and 90% of the time, their either get Solemn'd, MST'd, or go through but the target then is laid to waste by the next turn. The only time a Reborn actually effected my game other than, "I have no monsters and a Level 5 Blah Blah in my hand plus Reborn." moment, is when I had Junk Warrior on the field, and used Reborn to get my opponents Level 3 tuner and then I synched for Stardust, Bribed their Solemn, played Hand Destruction and got a new hand, then used a Raigeki Break on my opponents only monster, Normal summoned my 2nd Junk Synchron, returned my Speed Warrior, Re-synched for another Junk Warrior, then attacked for game. Either way, they only had Solemn set and a crappy monster on the field. I'd have won anyway, I just decided to be a jerk and rub it in that I could Synhro twice. Other than that, Reborn has been a sheer staple for revival in order to either set up for a Syncrho/combo, or to stall for one turn and usually that ends with a Solemn or some other crappy card my opponent has set. AsterikcAde Posted March 23, 2011 Report Share Posted March 23, 2011 It's kinda weird that a card such as this is a staple for a deck and used to be banned, they should make a revamp version of this card which allows you Special Summon only from your Graveyard and ban Monster Reborn completely from Regionals. Decks now are built in such a way that the only times you reborn from your opponent's grave is if you want to steal their beatstick, steal their monster for a synchro because your grave doesn't have the right level, or take cards like Shi En and screw with the opponent. Unless Macro Cosmos is out or both players have religious aversion to Synchro Summons, there's always going to be a monster that can be revived and Tributed, Synched, or Exceeded, if not used as a defense.
