[/quote] Wow, think the most I've ever paid for a YGO card was £15 (roughly $30 yankees) for Ultimate Rare BLS- EotB, before it was banned, about seven years ago I guess. Find it slightly amazing that prices have ballooned that much for this to be worth more than a card at the time which could single handiedly destroy people. Not that I'm saying this is a bad card, for from, it's probably the best Dragunity tuner out of the eight. (Although Aklys runs close for differing reasons). I love Dragunity. [/quote] If the activation was negated (say with Light and Darkness Dragon), you would not be able to activate Dragunity Phalanx's effect again during the same turn... so no L&DD draining shenanigans. The only other reason is to probably to prevent Special Summoning shenanigans, if a card is ever released that said "When a card is Special Summoned, do blah blah", that you don't try to find some re-equip and re-Special Summon loop with other cards.
