I hate explaining Celri, Monk of Dark World

If this card is discarded to the Graveyard by a card effect, Special Summon this card in face-up Defense Position to your opponent's side of the field. When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Dark World" card, your opponent must select and discard 1 card from their hand.

I can kinda understand the confusion, but seriously.

PROBLEM-SOLVING TEXT will be in effect before he's released, though, so that might save some issue.

Still, I say best new Dark World. YCM?

It doesn't make advantage. Infact, its summon is a -2. if you discard Goldd, who makes a +2 upon summon, then eh, its a +0. Destroying it by battle does however make it a +1. not exactly worth it IMO. it also implies that you have a good Dark World in hand to correspond with the situation. sometimes I have a problem with just drawing Dark Worlds, period, let alone having this and something else at the same time.

I hate playing this simply because of having to explain it. Fantastic card though. In one match I discarded him through Gate, used his effect to SS Goldd and used Goldd to pop a Decree and a Hyper Librarian so I could use my Eradicator Epidemic Virus on Goldd. Good times, good times. He's not a card you build the entire deck around or depend on but he is a card that is quite nice when you draw him.

Slightly less useful than it at first appears. I ran two, until one duel had me draw nothing but both Ceruli, so I dropped one and was satisfied that Snow could search it for me if I wanted it.

And yes, it's name should be transliterated as "Ceruli". If Konami releases it as Celri, I will sit back in smug satisfaction, knowing I am more qualified than all of Konami's lolcalization department put together.

Celri was the name in the GX dub.

So, like how they had to bend over backwards for Chimera, the Flying Mythical Beast not having "Phantom Beast" in its name, they will keep the 4Kids interpretation for anime fans.

Ceruli, coming from the color Cerulean. If you recall, all the Dark Worlds (except Reign-Beaux, Grapha, and Snow), are named after colors. In Japan, Reign-Beaux is called Rein, and I'm pretty sure it's a pun combining "Rein" (as in, a king) and "Rain" - which is why Snow is called Snow. Grapha presumably comes from Graphite, as in he "draws" all the other Dark Worlds.

Discard Goldd, summon, +0.

Discard Celri, summon to opponent, discard Goldd, summon and destroy, +0 with more choice. +1 when you destroy it.

Discard Celri, summon to opponent, discard Snow, search a card, and summon from opponent's grave. -1, but you still have your Normal Summon. +0 when you destroy it.

Discard Celri, summon to opponent, discard Grapha, destroy, get lucky with hand look, Normal Summon, revive, +2. +3 when you destroy it.

It's a pretty sweet card, if played right. But I guess it can be a dead draw sometimes, you have a point there. And cards don't have to make advantage to be good, this card has crap stats so even if it's +2 for your foe, it's a crappy +2. And the second situation is a freaking awesome +0. Dark World Dealings, when used to discard Gren or Khakki, is a +0 too. Still a decent move. The Forceful Sentry is a +0, and it's banned. Also, if you have trouble drawing DWs, put more monsters in. Synergy is more important than power, at least in DWs and Fableds. If you're so obsessed with advantage, Gateway is your friend (The revival Quick-Play, not the field).

Am I the only one who runs Morphing Jar/Rigorous Reaver and Creature Swap?
