[/quote] Too bad it stops the more important cards, such as Any Synchro you make with Debris Any Synchro you make with Junk Synchron Shi En Any Synchro you make with Sabers The way you see it, is that Roach is just a 1900 beater. You're not considering that it says "Hey, you can't actually make a power play this turn, so waste cards and get around me!", and also says "Hey, you can't actually make a power play this turn, plus I'm going to be out for a while because I have backrow cards u mad." Do you have any idea how much Plants rely on synchro summons? Albeit they still have Caius and Rykos, but you're supposed to play around that. Baiting out one of them then dropping Roach puts you in a favorable gamestate. Let's not forget Samurais. Dropping Roach will force a Samurai player to bring out Kageki and Kagemusha, and then drop a Kizan to get over the Roach. This gives you 1000 more opportunities to disrupt their combos, and if you do, they're in a bad situation since they've just commited two cards to the board and they're now dead. If we consider what decks we can play this in, there's GK, Samurais, and GB. This card would be mad good in GK because GK lose to big monsters, GKs play protection to keep Roach on the field, and you can easily make it with Spy plays. As for Samurais, all you have to do is drop double Kizan and there you go. And I head Shi En Roach is pretty goddamn devastating. Know how GBs tagging into Essedarii is good right? They also have the opportunity to "tag" into this motherf***er, and GBs, like GK, have protection. Clearly this card has its place in 3 metagame decks. The meta in ygo (bar GK) relies on special summoning synchros or giant monsters. Rai-Oh is a good card for a meta like this, but Roach is essentially a double Rai-Oh that won't leave you wide open after you negate. And okay, Roach sucks ass versus Monarchs and GK. So you know what you do? DON'T SUMMON HIM. This is another reason why not running it is a bad idea. It won't matter if you have it and it doesn't do well v.s. the opposing deck. You don't have to summon it, but it's still available whenever you play the better matchups. To follow up, the only good cards Rai-Oh can negate over Roach are Test Tiger, Doppelwarrior, Kizan, Armory Arm, T.G. Striker, and Genex Ally Birdman (off of the top of my head). The only one that would possibly ever matter is Test Tiger, since you're going to negate the Synchro Summon that follows up after almost every other card I mentioned.
