Earlier this year, I made a very small set based around summoning a nuclear missile in a method similar to "Great Moth" and rendering up to 3 Monster Zones useless. It worked well enough, but I had bigger plans. I intended this missile to initiate a "nuclear winter" that would allow the players to summon radioactive mutant versions of various classic monsters.

I finally got to working on it about a week ago. Originally, I was going to use wimps like "Celtic Guardian" and "Takriminos", but after the slamming of my (in retrospect) UP'd "Hot-Rolling Mill", I'm turning up the heat with monsters in the 2000-odd ATK/DEF range, all Vanillas...till now, that is. First, we need to get the missile going. (And yes, I've gotten flak for using spoilers, but I think it streamlines the post and makes it easier to read. So there.)[spoiler=U-235][spoiler=Card Image]190391q.jpg

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by Tributing "U-235" on the 3rd of your turns after "U-235" has been equipped with "Centrifuge of Enrichment". When you declare an attack with this card, offer this card as a Tribute to inflict 1500 damage to your opponent's Life Points, destroy the selected monster, and activate 1 "Endless Nuclear Winter" from your hand or Deck. Your opponent cannot use the destroyed monster's Monster Zone. If this card is sent to the Graveyard for any reason except for its own effect, inflict 500 damage to your Life Points as long as this card is in the Graveyard.

Once per turn, during your Main Phase, if you control this card on the field, you can equip it to your "'Tabula Rasa' ICBM" as an Equip Card, OR unequip the Union equipment and send this card to the Graveyard. If this card is sent to the Graveyard by "'Tabula Rasa' ICBM"'s effect, select 2 Monster Card Zones on your opponent's side of the field. The selected zones cannot be used for the next 5 turns. If there are Monster Cards on the selected Monster Card Zones, destroy those monsters. (1 monster can only be equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time.)

While equipped to a monster by this card's effect, you cannot declare an attack with the equipped monster or activate its effect(s). (1 monster can only be equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed by a Spell, Trap, or monster effect, negate that effect. If the equipped monster would be destroyed as a result of battle, negate the attack.)

SPELL/Field

This card can only be activated by the effect of "'Tabula Rasa' ICBM". This card cannot be negated or destroyed by Spell, Trap, or monster effects. As long as this card is on the field, decrease the ATK and DEF of all non-Machine, Fiend, Zombie, or Rock monsters, except "Radioactive Mutant"s, on the field by 750 and decrease the ATK and DEF of all Machine, Fiend, or Rock-type monsters on the field by 500. Both players can Normal Summon 1 "Radioactive Mutant" monster during their respective Main Phases.

Now that that's all done, it's time for the good part. The "Radioactive Mutant" monsters are almost identical to each other in effect, and they're statistically identical to their non-mutant forms. This is their effect:

This monster cannot be Normal Summoned or Set unless "Endless Nuclear Winter" is on the field. This card can only be Special Summoned by its own effect. This card is also treated as a Zombie-Type monster, and as a LIGHT and DARK monster [unless they're already LIGHT or DARK, then it's just "and as a LIGHT/DARK monster]. This monster can be used as a Fusion Material Monster for a monster that requires "[normal version of this monster]". If a Fusion Monster is summoned in this way, it is treated as a "Radioactive Mutant" Dissolver monster. If this monster is sent to the Graveyard by a Spell, Trap, or monster effect, or as a result of battle, you can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard during your next Main Phase.

The main point is to get self-resurrecting Dissolver versions of such classic Fusions as Meteor B. Dragon, Gaia the Dragon Champion, and...Kamionwizard?[spoiler=Radioactive Mutant Meteor Dragon]190391e.jpg

"Harpie Lady and Dark Witch don't have any fusions!" you undoubtedly scream. Well, that's where the latest in the line of big, scary dragons (Blue-Eyes/Red-Eyes, Cyber, Stardust, and this "#17 Leviathan Dragon" thingy): URANIUM DRAGON!!! RAWR!!

3 "Radioactive Mutant" monsters

This monster is also treated as a Zombie-type monster, and as a DARK monster. This monster is not affected by "Endless Nuclear Winter". You can offer this card as a Tribute to select 1 Monster zone on your opponent's side of the field. Your opponent cannot use the destroyed monster's Monster Zone for the next 3 turns. If there is a monster on the selected Monster Zone, destroy that monster. If this card is sent to the Graveyard for any reason except for its own effect, inflict 250 damage to your Life Points as long as this card is in the Graveyard.

SPELL

You can only activate this card if there is a "Uranium Dragon" or at least 3 "Radioactive Mutant" monsters on your side of the field. Select 1 Monster Card Zone on your opponent's side of the field. Your opponent cannot use that Monster Card Zone next turn. If there is a monster on the selected Monster Card Zone, your opponent cannot declare an attack with that monster, activate its effect, or change its Battle Position until the end of your opponent's next turn.

There's also an anti-support card:[spoiler=Nuclear Winter Survivor][spoiler=Card Image]190391p.jpg

[spoiler=Lore]

LIGHT

Level 6

Warrior/Effect/Fusion

"Science Soldier" + "Cold-Hearted Trapper Mikhail Ushanka"

When this monster is targeted by a Dissolver Effect, place 1 Spell Counter on this card and decrease its DEF by 200. If this card has 5 Spell Counters on it and is targeted by a Dissolver Effect, destroy this card. This monster is unaffected by "Endless Nuclear Winter". When this monster declares an attack against a "Radioactive Mutant" monster, increase this monster's ATK by 500. If this monster destroys a "Radioactive Mutant" monster in battle, remove the destroyed monster from play and calculate damage as normal.

unimpressive pic

I also don't see why you had the 10 turns in there

I cannot see it lasting that long at all

I made the pic from scratch. I meant it as a test of my GIMP work; apparently, it's not good enough.

I cut it down to 3 turns. You're right; last time I dueled, I got beat in a matter of 5 turns or so.

I'll reveal the rest of the associated cards later today.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm unsure of Endless Nuclear Winter

seems to support almost TOO many times

I disagree. All it does is allow BOTH players to summon Radioactive Mutant monsters (all 8 of them) and reduces the ATK and DEF of everything else. Cyber Dragon could destroy all of them with comparative ease, even with the ATK decrease.

I finally finished this thing! Feel free to print this out and rain nuclear/radiological mass destruction on whatever unfortunate duelist happens to sit across the table from you.

for all your radioactive mutant cards, the lore is too small

mind writing it out?

I did; it's the bold text centered above the cards. Like I said, they're virtually identical, so I thought it better to post it all in one place, rather than copying and pasting it in the spoiler for each card.\
