The judges, Who I think where just employees of the shop didn't actually know that many of the rulings. I was also the Only person with a Playmat, I took my Custom Gungnir one, if anyone actually gives enough of a damn. Anyway, you didn't have to submit a decklist or anything. I literally could have run a deck with 35 PoGs and they wouldn't have realised. Round 1: Some uhh... Blue eyes Beatdown? Oh yay, first round and a ton of ruling fails from Judges. [list] [*]He summons some random vanilla [*]I summon Kageki, Special Summon Kagemusha [*]Synchro Into shi en [*]Then go to special summon 2 Kizans and get told I can only special summon 1 because I would already have "Legendary Six Samurai - Kizan" on the field. The way it's worded does sort of make it look like you can only have one, though so I let it pass. [*]He activates...Uhh, Ancient Rules? [*]Neg it with shi en then get told I can't negate it because a normal spell is spell speed 3(wat) [*]He special summons Blue eyes, attacks Kizan. [*]I lol topdeck Gateway, special summon some stuff, then told that shi en automaticially negates and destroys my gateway when I activate it(wat). [/list] In other words, I won just using shi en. Round 2: Some Incompetent fool playing Plants, incorrectly. I was actually quite hopeful for a decent game when he played Dandy in face-up attack on the first turn... Once again, I get joked at by fake rulings. [list] [*]I get out 3 Shi ens on my second turn [*]drop 2 Kizans and LOLXYZ into Utopia [*]Judges don't know what an Xyz is, so they resort to google [*]google tells them nothing [*]I still won the round though. [/list] Round 3: Nordics, again, done wrong. [list] [*]Guy summons Garmr on first turn, I try not to burst out laughing [*]Again, Spam the field full of Sams, then swing for game [*]He flips Magic Cylinder [*]I'm told I can't neg it because Shi en can't negate traps [*]I show them the Yugioh wiki ruling and even show them shi en's DARN CARD TEXT [*]they still don't agree and that my 3 Shi ens must be misprints [*]I also must have editted the Yugioh wiki for the sake of winning a card game(sarcasm) [*]They look through my extra and don't know what Naturia Beast or Librarian are. [*]They think it's fake [*]I scoop the round. They say I can't use sams and I should change my deck. 30 Minutes later and a frantic run back home I get my Tengu Plants. [/list] 4 Insignificant games later, and much less ruling controversy, except that they said I couldn't summon a tengu if I Overlaid it, which I found quite funny, and I'd accept it, because it really shouldn't work when overlaid. Prepare to have all your Yugioh intelligence ripped from your mind. There where so many dumb fake rulings here, your brain might explode. I warned you. [list] [*]I summon Tengu, guy doesn't know what Tengu is [*]I explain to him [*]He says it sucks [*]I say "Sure." [*]He drops Machina Fortress. [*]He destroys tengu, I get another from the deck [*]I normal glow-up(yeah, lol) and synch into 2X Lolbrarian [*]Guy Machine dupes some random Machine tuner and tries to deck me out with Synchros. [*]Hand size limit, I discard everything I wanted to have in grave [*]Judge gives me warning for discarding due to hand size limit [list] [*]I get told I can't take Priority on Lonefire(Prio is still in TCG, iirc) [*]Judge checks my side deck [*]doesn't know what fossil dyna is [*]I'm like ".....Seriously." [*]so I take out the LODT cards. [*]Continue the game until he drops Cydra and goes into a Fortress Dragon. [*]I get told I can't use solemn warning because a fusion summon isn't a special summon [*](At this point, I felt like ragequitting) [*]So, I drop Debris Dragon and revive dandy to go into BRD. [*]I win game 2 [/list] [/list] [list] [*]Apparently I can't book a Machina Fortress. [*]I synchro for Trishula [*]Judges think Trishula is banned [*]I'm given match win, after explaining all the junk that the other guy misplayed [*]I came 1st overall, even with all the ruling palava [/list] Prizes? I got a mat. You where expecting something cool? Like say, a Utopia Mat? Nah, Just a Gold series 4 mat. And... A Booster box of...Uhh...Starstrike Blast? Hooray, a chance at getting a glow up bulb... Except I got literally nothing except a Ultra SSD in it. On a note with all the ruling crap, I was pretty much like the second oldest person there(I'm 14) so I think they just gave the Under 13's a Unfair advantage to not get them mad. Then, when the judges say I can't use Magical Explosion in response to Mystical Space Typhoon because it negates the effects, I'll laugh, show them the ruling, and say "Good day, sir.
