Why do we exist?

In a sense, the mark left on this planet by us will be all but eternal when we die. We are not supposed to know what is the meaning of life.

We were supposed to be as smart as regular animals, but something in our evolution went wrong and here we are today, talking about this.

1000 years ago, we were still oblivious to most Sciences, and only the richest got an education. Now, we know of many sciences, we are a "developed" society(Some more than others *Rolls Eyes*). Who knows how we will be in 3011(If the Mayans weren't correct.)?

I've been discussing with a number of my friends about the reason why we are here on earth, the end of the world, and what happens after death.

What purpose do we serve here? Are we playthings for a higher power or do we simply just... be?

That has been my theory. Not true, of course, but I feel that these "higher power" beings are actually channeled into our world through supernatural and paranormal occurrences. Another way of seeing it is through dreams, because dreams project a perfect but incomplete life, which is considered impossible; in other words, supernatural. Piecing them together, it's all a paradox, so over-thinking it will only strain yourself.

That's my theoretical contribution to this topic. Blud is out.

I really have no clue, nor do I have a care in the world about. Think about it as much as you want, but if there is an answer, you wasted your life finding it.
Life is such a limited thing that could just be nothing important. It is like an anime, you are the main character, but in the beginning you are nothing special. One day, without knowledge, something out of this world might happen to you and then your destiny is clearly seen with that.
Now, if you think of life just as a normal life, you are 1 out of a few billion. Which, in that case, it is really nothing important that if you died. Only some few people around the double digits or triple digits might care. Unless, you are able to become on that is able to become famous.
Live life how you want it really. Do not think about it too much, or you will come to a conclusion that limits you to only few possibilities and you will be consumed by that one perspective of why you and others exist, which makes life less interesting. Just stop worrying about stuff like this and enjoy what you have around you and others. You only have near 100 years to live, which is not that many if you think about it.

Well, I agree with the higher power. According to theory, anything that can happen, does happen, and the universe is infinitely splitting into more dimensions whenever a choice is made. For example, if you flip a coin, it lands on both heads and tails, just in different dimensions that branched off of the same universe. But how is it decided which dimension ends up in? Who is responsible for the thing called fate? Who caused the big bang? (Although the latter is possibly somebody in the future sending a time machine back to when the big bang happened and the time machine exploded in a casuality loop) Anyways, there is probably some higher power, that controls fate. I don't mean a god or anything. I mean the theory that the universe was engineered by an alien race, that the earth's ability to support life was not a cosmic fluke. Their science above our understanding built this universe like we use science today to engineer buildings. Perhaps even they engineered it as a perfect illusion, that the universe we know is a precisely calculated set of sensory information. Maybe the universe does not exist, and we are only lab rats who are unable to recognize ourselves as such. And that would also explain paranormal occurences, which are flaws in the false sensory data that creates the illusion of a universe. And they control us in a way so that we split the universe with choices and random occurences regularly so that they may study what happens, and they control us to the point where we think it's our own ideas. But what will we experience when the experiment ends? (In 2012, perhaps?) Will we die as the world ends, or will the truth be revealed?

I know that... -.-'

But yeah.

I have no clear oppinion, nor do I really care. I'm just happy that I do live and am surrouonded by other people.

Yeah. To me it works in two ways: 1.) In a good mood, I live to appreciate life and what it throws at me. 2.) In a bad mood, I think life is just a dream that I have yet to wake up from. Either way there is just no way to escape it. Just to take it for granted and enjoy it while it lasts.

Agreed Burnspy.

Go enjoy life and don't be weighed down by idiotic limitations.

Religion? f*** it if it's too hectic for you.

Relationships? Throw them out the door if you don't get anything you like from it.

Status in Society? I gave that up years ago and I'm now happy and content not being forced to be what someone else wants me to be.

I hate apathetics who give crappy advice.
Relgion? If you believe it. Don't tell others religion is too hectic, it's literally the opposite.
Relationships? WTF! Are you brainless? That is literally the most stupid thing I've heard. Relationships should be selfless, if you're in life to be selfish, go have sex with a whore.
Status in Society? Doesn't matter. No one forces you to do anything, but having a good reputation never hurts.

@Dark
again, I disagree with you. Why do you get out of bed every morning if you believe the purpose of life is to die?

Even god must die someday. And on that day will be Armageddon.
Because humans are the only species that achieve that inherent belief in such a deity, all belief in that god will die as humans will. Therefore, any humanity-based religion dies as we do.

Perhaps "God is dead," was stated too early by Nietzsche.
