He doesn't really understand a lot of what he sees and is more often lost than not. He is also very curious about what he sees, being so much different from what he is used to. He has a strong sense of loyalty and is also very trusting. Raised a slave, he works hard and tries to please people. Since Claudia old him beastmen are often slaves, he hides what he is as much as possible. He has a strong flight or cower instict, the fight beaten out of him a long time ago, though that doesn't mean he can't or won't fight. [spoiler=[b]Biography[/b]] Lark, the name he was given by Claudia, was originally born in one of the reclusive beastmen villages. Sometime after his first birthday, but before his third, a fire started at one end of the small community, the children were sent out of the village for their safety while the adults tried to put it out. It turned out the fire was deliberately set and slavers attacked the group and captured them. The slavers marched them to a port and loaded them on a ship. Beastmen are often sold as slaves in some areas, and he was purchased a few weeks later by a vassal of a somewhat rich landowner. Being the 13th beastman slave bought for the Gilchrests, that was the name given to him. He was raised to be a general help around his owner's property, in the process learning different skills like basic repair work, medicine, basic fighting to defend the estate and even how to make fireworks for his owners entertainment. He never learned to read or write, though, as it was seen as unnecessary for a slave, much less for a beastman; it would be too complicated for him. When he was thirteen, he was trained and given as a companion for his owner's daughter, Claudia. She taught him things like how to sew and make clothes for her, how to cook and exotic dancing. And she taught him about freedom, something he never know about before One of Claudia's hobbies was sailing, and she often when out with some of her father's slaves and employees and he would accompany her as her companion and bodyguard. The last time she went out sailing, the ship was attacked by a group hired by rivals of her fathers. Though he fought them off, he was knocked unconscious. When he woke up, he found himself on their ship with a bag of money and some of the slaves crewing it. Apparently, Claudia took the opportunity to free them, sending them far from the Gilchrest's homeland. Freedom wasn't exactly something he longed for, since he didn't even understand what it was, but he didn't complain, since it was an order from her that he go. That was several months ago. He has part ways with the other freed slaves in Port Corona. He doesn't have a clue really were he is (he doesn't know how to read maps either), but since he was there, he figured he should go and look around, see what this freedom thing is. He is prone to mishap with the measurements for the more dangerous ones though. Typically sticks to smoke, pepper and noisemakers.
