NumberCruncher
So here's a quick question for you'se people. If there were cards other than Necroface that banished cards off the top of the deck, do you think people would get into it?
Catterjune
And then JD pops out of nowhere and is all: "HURRR DURR PAY 1000 FOR GAME" :/ ...Also, if I remember correctly, it was pretty much the Lightsworn archetype that started the whole "Milling is good" fetish.
You remember incorrectly. It was Perfect Circle and Card Trooper. Milling Treeborn Frog, Malicious, and Disk Commander (and Pot of Avarice fuel for the weird decks) I think RFG-milling might be the best way to go, but even then that might just end up making RFG the second graveyard. That's why I brought it up.

~/Coolio Prime\~
For milling to be a viable the deck damage done should not be tame. It should also have good ways to, and should be expected to negate Graveyard abuse. Something like Necrovalley is just a stupid type-killer, but cards within the milling system that also banish or negat Grave usability should follow the milling itself. I'm actually making an archetype that I'm going to make into a viable mill type.

~/Coolio Prime\~
Reason being anything that hates milling usually isn't anywhere near the meta tiers. This RFP and Graveyard interaction only started because the game wasn't/isn't complex enough for there to be enough field interactions to deal with intelligently. Ieyasu Tokugawa
That's why cards that mill the opponent's decks need to be done in mass quantity. 3 just doesn't cut it.
~/Coolio Prime\~
Except it shouldn't be done in the OTK manner of Necroface, either. It's a difficult situation.

~/Coolio Prime\~
The game should be a continuous process, and as such mill should be done more consistently and not in a single, massive burst. Just not a very good way to structure a process in the long-run, since successful OTK decks always end up getting banlisted, just like Frogs when they were actually good. Ieyasu Tokugawa
Why yes, almost everything being run in Empty Jar is on the banlist.
