It's card number scares me

+ Promotes thinking before paying lifepoints for solemn warning and or Judgment
+Gives decks monster removal

-Promotes OTKs
-Burn can sometimes make a player lose.

I think it would be interesting to see how Konami would react with this @1 for a format.

Chainable, destroys any face-up monster, and deals massive Burn, easily 1500+ to both players. Barrel Behind the Door or Spell of Pain turns full damage to the opponent.

Broken and should never return. Burn decks don't need more power, and it's generic. It can be a +0 if you kill an opponent's monster, but it just does too much damage. Magic Cylinder will be at 3 before this ever comes back.

I didn't say it should return, but what IF it was?

I summed up what was wrong with the card. Can't you just connect the dots?

Burn would be much more viable. Chain Burn would LOVE this card back. Duels would end in uncomfortably short times.

REAL strategy would be dead, replaced by "kill the opponent as soon as possible by swarm or burn"

If Cylinder were@3 and this came back@1, Burn would actually be something people should watch out for, and would actually make for interesting main-deck material. But considering this card is rather poorly designed, and the fact it tends to promote OTKs rather then considering the fact it removes monsters + requires thinking for an Opponent who mains a bunch of Solemns, is the reason this will stay@0. Its just too ridiculous to come off the list.

....Oh, and Mask of Darkness would probably be limited if this went to 1.

When the card was still legal, I was playing one of my friends using my Cyber Dragon deck and he had a (bad) Zombie deck.

I had 1700 LP, and my hand was Power Bond, Cyber Dragon, some random Machine, and Ring. He had like 4000 LP or something and his Field was Vampire Genesis and Ryo Kokki or something.

I use Power Bond for Chimeratech (3200) and kill both of his monsters, Setting Ring and taking 1600 from Power Bond. During his Turn, I flipped Ring for a Draw. Granted, I evidently could have won, but I didnt want to take the chance of Chimeratech dying somehow.

Now, such generic burn with destruction and chainability factored in, the card can give headaches by creating draws (exceptionally difficult to pull off under normal circumstances), or give one player way, way too much of an advantage. If you reduced your opponent to a low enough amount, the burn happening to you doesn't matter because you'll survive and they wont. Or it can finish them off after swarming, or you can blast open a hole in their monsters and swarm into the breach for game.

In a format with this @1 and Cylinder @3, perhaps Black-Winged Dragon might actually see use.

But that's stupid. No-one wants to be forced to play that card just to counter the meta :S

Oh, and we could actually see Konami's logic behind BLS. They just basically wanted to boost Tier 1 away from Tier 2 for a format experimentally. Didn't work, kks, back to 0 you go.

But THIS has no reason to come up :S This would become staple immediately.

Staples are stupid because they reduce the diversity of the game by a pretty big amount. Can't change that, so yeah. But what you can do is stop making more staples or putting others back to 1.

Duh. This should never come back because it's a badly designed staple.

I didn't intend that as justification, either. Just making a random point, I suppose.

There's really no reason for this to come back.

Yeah, true. Still, the point is pretty important advice for Konami to follow.

If we have to run 3 copies of Counter Counter in order to combat the printing of, say, 30 other types of Solemn card, then we're screwed.
