I thought we should all calm down and talk about something that isn't political or religious. I was wondering what all of you define as true love and infatuation. I have a couple opinions and yes, one is a Romeo and Juliet sort of thing. I believe love is something that can never be described through words but your actions. Love is an intense care and pure sense of belonging that both people share. Love can't be created by changing yourself for that person either because deep down inside you will always be who you truly are. Love is the feeling that you can't live without them and when they die, you won't be sad, you will be happy because they're in a better place/have escaped the burdens of the world. [Religious and non-religious opinion made to prevent drama]

So what do all of you think about love?

Love is selflessness, where you think about the other person. It's unique from other relationships in that you both give 100% for the one you love, as opposed to 50/50.

There's also a large difference between "Falling in Love" and love.

Falling in love is, basically, obsession with a person that fades. Throughout a lifetime, you will fall in and out of love with that person, but the thing is to always love them.

Love is a commitment where you choose to be with that person through the highs and lows of life, and putting yourself aside to care for them when they need it. It's about trust and care, not about how they make you feel, at all. There are dark times in any relationship, but true love is what lasts.

Thank you Jaden for making a nice topic to cleanse our tongues from the recent political rant topics. I have never experienced true love outside of my family, but I do hope to one day. Love from a true friend, or from your spouse, this is the kind of love I hope I get to experience someday.

Caring for someone greatly, feeling their pain and knowing their joy, this is love. And I do hope that I will know love like this outside my family one day. Sorry if I'm being a little emotional, but I hope and pray for the day I can experience true love, whether it be in a truly good friend, a wife, or kids.

Love, unfortunately, is a necessity for us. I don't define it as anything, because I have a difficult time grasping the concept. However, I believe that life would be much happier without the feeling of "love", or "falling in love", I should say; it causes fights, distractions, dismay, harm, etc for only a period of happiness and having the emotion filled. What lies at the end though? Even if a relationship evolves into marriage, and even if a divorce never comes up, you're almost guaranteed to fall out of love with the person eventually.

Rejection sucks so bad. The funny thing is everytime I asked a girl out, it only lasted to a week and they broke up with me. When a girl asked me out instead we have a prosperous relationship.

Women are well, odd to say the least when it comes to this stuff. But it's needed for general advancement of your life, so yea it's sorta important. Still, other subcatagories of it are just urges.
