evilfusion
If only Bob and Dog King were unbanned to see this. They would be proud. :( Dog's ban should have expired last night. If someone would be kind enough to come and feature me and Pika's match (which we're going to be doing soon), then it would be appreciated. It has been done, as you know. Welche the crab
I think the notes are wrong. If DPrison goes to the grave when resolving, does Vanity's Emptiness get destroyed? [spoiler=James Nagro v Storm Wolf]The game opens with James Nagro skillfully outplaying Storm Wolf in a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors and makes the obvious decision to got first. Sadly I cannot give you information on how this happened but it was likely a combination of ingenius tactics and a bit of luck on the side. He begins by playing Pot of Duality revealing the top three cards of his deck to be Reborn Tengu, Maxx "C" and another Reborn Tengu. He picks the Maxx "C" over both Reborn Tengu, probably meaning he had something else in hand ready to Summon at a moments notice, or that he just really wanted a Maxx "C" for whatever reason. Either way, he takes the Maxx "C" and passes. Storm Wolf begins his turn very similarly with his own Pot of Duality. He reveals Vanity's Emptiness, Effect Veiler and, Thunder King Rai-Oh. Deciding to take Rai-Oh, Storm Wolf proceeds to summon it and set two cards for defence. He decides not to attack this turn because he is clearly afraid of a Gorz play, meaning he either just didn't have outs or didn't want to use them at this time. Either way he then ends his turn. James then makes another quite matching play, bringing out his Rai-Oh which he tries to ram into Wolf's Rai-Oh. With two backrow, it is no surprise to anyone that he has a response, playing a facedown Dimensional Prison. James, without a monster for protection, is forced to end his turn wide open. Storm Wolf becomes more confident on his next turn attacking directly with his Rai Oh. Likely this would mean that he now has an out or that he just believes James to be bluffing. Either way, after declaring the attack, James has to think for a moment before accepting the 1900 damage. James Nagro: 6100Storm Wolf: 8000 James then makes a strange play, summoning Reborn Tengu in attack mode. With only 1700 ATK it isn't strong enough to run over Wolf's more powerful Rai-Oh. He then makes the even more odd move of entering his Battle Phase and attacking Rai-Oh. Then he plays Enemy Controller from his hand, which changed Rai-Oh to his, much weaker defensive mode. At only 800 DEF it is easily destroyed. He end's his turn. Reborn Tengu is a powerful monster and it is no surprise that Wolf has no immediate answer to it and instead needs to set a monster before passing. James continues his offensive push by summoning out Spirit Reaper, but Wolf answers with his other facedown from first turn, Solemn Warning. Unfazed, James plays his Monster Reborn to revive his opponents Rai-Oh from earlier in the game. Then he runs over Wolf’s facedown Sangan using Rai-Oh. While this would normally have been okay for Wolf because he would have gotten a search, he doesn’t now because of Rai-Oh. Then he uses Tengu for a direct attack. James Nagro: 6100Storm Wolf: 4300 Storm Wolf is now in a difficult situation, but he uses his own Monster Reborn to bring back Spirit Reaper in defense mode for protection. James chains his Maxx “C” which he took first turn from Duality to draw a single card. He set’s two backrow and ends his turn. Next turn James sets a backrow and ends his turn. Wolf passes. James passes. Wolf passes. Here we see that James has no answer to a Spirit Reaper, but Wolf was incapable of making any kind of offensive push. James plays his Dark Hole to destroy Rai-Oh, Tengu and Spirit Reaper. Wolf plays his own Maxx “C” in response to Reborn Tengu’s effect which then summons another Tengu allowing Wolf to draw a card. Tengu then attacks for 1700 damage. James Nagro: 4400Storm Wolf: 4300 Wolf set’s a monster to defend from Reborn Tengu and ends his turn. James summons a Spirit Reaper in attack mode, then enters his battle phase. He uses his Tengu to attack a facedown Spirit Reaper causing the end of his battle phase. He finishes his turn by playing a Pot of Duality to reveal Solemn Judgment, Heavy Storm, and Sangan. He then decides to add Heavy Storm to his hand and ends hit turn. Wolf is forced into a corner and has to end his turn without doing anything. James begins his turn by playing Heavy Storm, but Wolf chains a Book of Moon to set Spirit Reaper protecting it from cards like Smashing Ground or simply any other card that targets. James summons Tour Guide from the Underworld to which Wolf chains a Maxx “C”. James uses Tour Guide to summons a defense mode Sangan. He sets a backrow and ends his turn. Wolf opens with his own Heavy Storm to which James chains a Book of Moon on Sangan. It’s like déjà vu isn’t it? Then he banishes Rai-Oh and Spirit Reaper I believe to summon Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning. He then attacks Reborn Tengu, destroying it then using BLS’s effect to attack again, hitting Reaper. He set’s two backow before ending his turn. James Nagro: 1400Storm Wolf: 4300 James tries to come back into the game with a Tour Guide from the Underworld, but a well played Vanity’s Emptiness stops that effect right away. He set’s a backrow before turning his last Tengu and his Spirit Reaper into defense mode and ending his turn. Storm Wolf begins his turn and tries to use Black Luster Soldier to run over Tour Guide. James activates his set Dimensional Prison which banishes BLS and also causing Vanity’s Emptiness to be destroyed once the chain resolves. James puts his Tour Guide in defense mode along with his Tengu and Reaper and ends his turn. Storm Wolf, wishing he had Bora, passes. James plays a backrow and passes. Wolf passes. James sets another backrow and passes. Wolf passes. James passes. Storm Wolf passes. James passes. Storm Wolf is forced to discard his Inzektor Hornet before ending the turn because he had seven cards in his hand. James passes. Wolf passes after setting a backrow. James flips his Sangan only to have it be destroyed by Torrential Tribute along with everything else on the field.. This apparently destroyed Emptiness though I believe that should have been destroyed earlier. He get’s an unknown search of Sangan and also summons a Reborn Tengu from his deck though I could have sworn he was on his last one. Then he plays Pot of Avarice to return two Tour Guides, two Tengus and a Sangan to draw to cards giving him 9 cards in hand. With a completely refueled Tengu, he then summons Tour Guide and activates it’s effect. VERY interestingly, Torrential is chained to this effect and Sangan and Tengu are still summoned. They both attack Storm Wolf and James sets two cards. James Nagro: 1400Storm Wolf: 1600 Mystical Space Typhoon is played by someone, somehow. Then Wolf normal summons a Inzektor Hornet and attempts to equip the Hornet from his Graveyard to it. James will hear none of this using Effect Veiler to stop this play. Wolf then uses his Inzektor Gigamantis to equip to Hornet boosting it to 2400 ATK. He tries to attack but James plays a set Dimensional Prison. Storm Wolf summons out the Dark Armed Dragon because with Gigamantis in his graveyard he can do that now. He banishes a Spirit Reaper to destroy a set warning. So James, I bet you wish you had 700 more Life Points now, eh? He sets two more cards and passes. One of those facedowns turns out to be Trap Dustshoot which returns a Black Luster Soldier. James plays Smashing and pokes for game. Wow that was one long game with a lot of passing and a lot of writing for me. 1300 words already! Storm Wolf get’s to go first with his Rai-Oh which we have seen before. James responds by Special Summoning his Cyber Dragon. Making the smart move, Storm Wolf negates this summon instead of letting the Dragon run over his Rai-Oh. James then sets 2 cards. Storm Wolf summons his Spirit Reaper and uses it to poke James. In response James plays Fiendish Chain, but Storm Wolf chains MST. James will hear none of this and uses 4000 Life Points to activate Solemn Judgment. A lot of life points to save 1 card in his hand. James Nagro: 4000Storm Wolf: 8000 James plays Pot of Duality revealing Reborn Tengu, Thunder King Rai-Oh, and Torrential Tribute. Adding Tengu, he summons a different Rai-Oh from his hand to run over Reaper. James Nagro: 4000Storm Wolf: 6400 Storm Wolf plays Monster Reborn to revive his Cyber Dragon. Then James plays Trap Dustshoot which may seem late, but he clearly wanted to get a + of chaining it to MST. He returns a Hornet to the deck. Then he runs Rai-Oh over using Cyber Dragon. James Nagro: 3800Storm Wolf: 6400 James has to set a monster and a backrow, now completely depleting his hand. Storm Wolf uses Pot of Duality to reveal Spirit Reaper, Thunder King Rai-Oh and Inzektor Hornet. Anyone else find that we are seeing a lot of Hornet but no Dragonfly or Centipede? Anyway, Wolf adds a Thunder King to his hand. Cyber Dragon is then used to run over a facedown Tengu which summons another Tengu from the deck. Wolf sets a backrow and in the End Phase, James plays MST to destroy a facedown Vanity’s Emptiness. James tributes his Reborn Tengu to summon out his own Cyber Dragon. Wolf chains a Maxx “C” to draw a card when James summons a third Reborn Tengu. James then summons Chimeratech Fortress Dragon (giving Wolf another draw) and both monsters attack Wolf directly. James Nagro: 3800Storm Wolf: 2700 Wolf begins with Foolish Burial to send an Inzektor Hornet to the graveyard from his deck. Then he summons Inzektor Centipede but James plays Shadow Imprisoning Mirror. Wolf starts James’ turn by Effect Veiler’ing Chimeratech reducing it’s ATK to 0. James attacks Centipede with Tengu but get’s Dimensional Prison’d, removing the last Tengu from play. In the Main Phase two James uses Smashing to destroy Centipede and switches Chimeratech to defense mode. Wolf summons out a Thunder King Rai-Oh which he uses to run over Chimeratech before setting a backrow and ending his turn. James passes after setting his own backrow. Rai-Oh pokes at James. James Nagro: 1900Storm Wolf: 2700 James set’s a monster for defense and ends his turn. Rai-Oh attacks, but get’s hit by Book of Moon flipping it facedown. James sets another backrow, in a really back situation. Rai-Oh runs over Veiler. James sets another backrow. Wolf plays MST on the new backrow before attacking with Rai-Oh for game. Well game two was much shorter with a lot less passing. Let’s hope game three goes the same. James goes first this game using Pot of Duality to reveal Tour Guide from the Underworld, Effect Veiler and Thunder King Rai-Oh. He chooses to add Tour Guide and then summons a Rai-Oh and sets one card. Storm Wolf tries to use an Inzektor Centipede but James responds with Fiendish Chain. Wolf sets one card and passes. Rai-Oh then runs over Centipede and sets two cards. James Nagro: 8000Storm Wolf: 7700 Storm Wolf tries to use Inzektor Dragonfly but a well timed Enemy Controller tributes Rai-Oh to take control of the Dragonfly. It only took three games to see a Dragonfly. No big deal. In the End Phase MST destroys Wolfs set card. James begins with Tour Guide, which gets a Maxx “C” chained to it. He summons Sangan which the crashes into Dragonfly giving James the ability to search out Tour Guide. He sets a backrow and passes. On Storm Wolf’s turn, James plays Trap Dustshoot to return Spirit Reaper. He then summons Sangan and rams that into Tour Guide to search out Maxx “C”. After a lot of thinking, James decides to pass. Storm Wolf passes. James summons Rai-Oh and attacks directly. James Nagro: 8000Storm Wolf: 5800 Storm Wolf uses Monster Reborn to target Centipede. He then equips Hornet and destroys Rai-Oh and searches Dragonfly presumably [or not if Rai-Oh stopped that…]. Centipede then attacks. James Nagro: 6400Storm Wolf: 5800 James begins with Tour Guide which get’s Maxx “C”d. He brings out another Tour Guide before summoning out BLS. He then overlays for Acid Golem and uses BLS to run over Centipede. BLS then goes for a direct attack but afterwards he gets Gorz’d. Acid Golem runs over Gorz and in the Main Phase 2 he uses Smashing Ground to destroy the token. He sets a backrow and ends his turn. Storm Wolf starts with MST to destroy James’ set card. He summons Dragonfly and uses it to destroy BLS. Then he summons Centipede which he uses to destroy Acid Golem. He searches out Gigamantis which then equips to something unknown and that didn’t matter. He plays heavy on it allowing him to SS Centipede with Gigamantis and another Centipede with Dragonfly. He equips Gigamantis and James scoops. So after a long time, Storm Wolf takes the win with his powerful Inzektors! The game opens with James Nagro skillfully outplaying Storm Wolf in a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors and makes the obvious decision to got first.
