Okay, first off, Aren't Mormons Christian, and yet they practice Polygamy?

Second off, How about Gorgon for my contribution?

Well, they believe themselves as Christian and their teaching are adopted from the protestant church but both the Protestant church and the Catholic church doesn't acknowledge their teaching as apart the Christian theology as their dogma are view as heretic. And the next myth discussion would be about Gorgons and the monster discussion would be on Medusa.

In Greek mythology, the Gorgon (plural: Gorgons) (Greek: ΓορΓών or ΓορΓώ Gorgon/Gorgo) was a terrifying female creature. The name derives from the Greek word gorgós, which means "dreadful." While descriptions of Gorgons vary across Greek literature, the term commonly refers to any of three sisters who had hair of living, venomous snakes, and a horrifying visage that turned those who beheld it to stone. Traditionally, while two of the Gorgons were immortal, Stheno and Euryale, their sister Medusa was not, and was slain by the mythical demigod and hero Perseus.Gorgons were a popular image of Greek mythology, appearing in the earliest of written records of Ancient Greek religious beliefs such as those of Homer. Because of their legendary gaze, images of the Gorgons were put upon objects and buildings for protection. For example, an image of a Gorgon holds the primary location at the pediment of the temple at Corfu. It is the oldest stone pediment in Greece and is dated to c. 600 BC.

Medusa
Lore:
In later myths, Medusa was the only one of the three Gorgons who was not immortal. King Polydectes sent Perseus to kill Medusa in hopes of getting him out of the way, while he pursued Perseus's mother, Danae. Some authors say that Perseus was armed with a scythe from Hermes (Roman equivalent Mercury) and a mirror (or a shield) from Athena. Perseus could safely cut off Medusa's head without turning to stone by looking only at her reflection in the shield. From the blood that spurted from her neck and jumping into the sea sprang Pegasus and Chrysaor, her sons by Poseidon. Other sources say that each drop of blood became a snake. He gave the head, which retained the power of turning into stone all who looked upon it, to Athena. She then placed it on the mirrored shield called Aegis and gave it to Zeus. Another source says that Perseus buried the head in the marketplace of Argos.According to other accounts, either he or Athena used the head to turn Atlas into stone, transforming him into the Atlas Mountains that held up both heaven and earth.

Well I say we should still have another monster to battle Medusa, but I chose one of the monsters for last week so someone else should pick who Medusa battles.

Oh yeah. There's a monster battle. It can include 1 or more monster against Medusa just to make things interesting while the main topic would be Medusa and the gorgons.

You know I just thought of something, but would Medusa's ability to turn you into stone work if you were blind or didn't have any eyes?

Lol, now you kept me wondering the same thing. Anyway,I pick Blade as the challenger! The movie version anyways.

Blade is a half human-half vampire that poses all the strength of a Vampire and none of their weakness. Since his mother was pregnant when she was bitten by a vampire, Blade displayed certain unique abilities as a dhampir due to the vampire enzymes in his body. Blade has shown many times that he is immune (or at least highly resistant) from the bite of a true vampire and he cannot become a vampire by normal means. However, there had been temporary cases in which his vampire instincts takeover when Blade is in a weakened state (usually from an intense battle and blood loss) causing him to act like a vampire.Blade is also resistant (possibly immune) to the hypnotic gaze of vampires (known as mesmerism). Blade also has a greatly prolonged lifespan which indicates that Blade may possess immortality. Blade has the very rare ability to "smell" and sense the supernatural (which vampires don’t seem to possess). This has helped him many times to identify demons even if they had possessed the body of a human being (this is noticeable when a demon possessed a man dressed as Santa Clause, Blade sensed the demonic essence coming from him).

How do monster battles work exactly? Is it explained on a certain post?

It started with a suggested monster/myth for the monster/myth of the week discussion. This monster could be from movie, tv series, books, comic or even the actual lore as long as they are supernatural/sci-fi in origin (Also, do tell from what are those monster/demon/angel/gods are). That would be the main discussion, the next side discussion would be the monster battle with members suggestion a monster to battle the monster/monster of the myth from monster of the week discussion. To make it easier, the monster's feat should be feature so we know what are they capable of doing. Hope that clear more things up mate.

Ok, this time I'm picking the monster/myth of the week or whatever timeline it is.

Nekron is the ruler of a dimension that borders Hell, Limbo and Purgatory. His realm serves as a place where the departed souls of all who have died await passage to their final destination, good or bad. Since Nekron receives power from the souls who inhabit his realm, he is constantly trying to obtain more. When the rogue Maltusian scientist, Krona, was banished by his brethren and trapped in energy form, he somehow reached Nekron's realm. This resulted in a paradox that Nekron used to his benefit. The paradox was caused by an immortal being like Krona occupying a realm meant for the dead, which resulted in Krona’s immortal energies leaving a tear in the time and space between the mortal universe and Nekron's realm. The tear allowed Nekron to see into this universe of the living, but was not big enough for a being as powerful as Nekron to pass through. Wanting this universe as his own, Nekron recreated Krona as a being of immense power and sent him along with an army of similarly empowered spirits to kill the Guardians of the Universe, so that their immortal energies would tear the rift between the two realms wider and allow Nekron to travel between the two.

POWERS AND ABILITIES
Dark Lightning: He has the ability to fire bolts of a force called dark lightning from his hands, powerful enough to hurt and even kill the Guardians of the Universe. Despite being immensely powerful, it is not unstoppable. Wonder Woman was able to block it with her bracelets, although the force still threw her across the room.

Necrotic Empowerment: Nekron gains physical strength from the deaths he causes.

Reanimation: As the Lord of the Unliving, Nekron can reanimate corpses into fully functioning zombies working entirely under his control, and retaining semblance of their past personality.

Fatal Touch: The sustained touch of Nekron's hand can chill any mortal being to death, through supernatural means.

Immortality: Since he is not alive in the sense that we understand it, Nekron is technically incapable of being killed. As such, defeating him is extremely difficult; if defeated he will simply return to the Land of the Unliving.

Reality Manipulation: Nekron can warp time and space on a planetary scale.

Weaknesses
Link Required: For all his power, Nekron holds one great weakness: he cannot exist in this universe. In order to properly interact with the living, Nekron requires a link between between New Earth and the Land of the Unliving, such as a tear in space-time, or a mortal link such as Black Hand.

1. Funny I can imagine in Dante's Inferno

2. I think I have a good challenger for Nekron, I give thee Dormammu! (not posting image for obvious reasons)

Dormammu is a species of powerful beings from another dimension know as Faltine. Him and his sister Umar were banished from there dimension after practicing Anathema on there fellow Faltines. There they were changed to human forms and discovered the Dark Dimension where there they were offered a deal of great power by the ruler of the Dark Dimension if they taught him how to shatter and absorb a dimension. After years of searching a group known as the mindless ones appeared and killed the Dark Dimension ruler along with many residents to the Dark Dimension after Dormammu and Umar fought them off they used the confusion of this attack to be heroes and then Dormammu became the ruler of the Dark Dimension where he made a new form combining the flames of Faltine and the Dark Dimension.

Chaotic Flames: A powerful spell, where he fires scattered blazes and burns everything it touches.

Teleportation: Do I really need to explain this one?

Dimension Travel: Can travel from one dimension to another.

Power of the Creators: One of his most powerful spells where he can make the sky rain Meteors, or fill the ground with lava.

Dark Dimension Trap: Surrounds his opponent in Dark Dimension, shrinks it and crushes it with the trapped victim inside.

Mind Control: Do I need to explain THIS one?

Levitation: Can Levitate.

Dark Hole: Can create a Dark Hole and suck in anything that comes near it.

Purfication: Shoots a pillar of Dark Matter from the ground.

Liberation: A burst of energy that may stun opponents.

ok....I'm kinda confused at first. Which is the main discussion, which is monster is for the battle. So Nekron is the main topic and Nekron vs Dormammu for the monster battle.
