J-Max
The on;y thing I see happening is that all other Sections except Written Cards would be eliminated as we can't even use a Stock Photo of a Tree as a Image. Also my Pokevolution Project wiuld be dead so yeah
I guess I should load up on pirated stuff now, huh? Anyway, as long as things like Steam and iTunes survive (which they will- they're not breaking the law at all), then I really am indifferent. YCM probably won't survive, since, well... YuGiOh is a copyright and whatnot.
Already done XD I have around 15 1 TB Drives all full of stuff including Games, Music & Videos. Simping For Hina
Since Obama has stopped the continuation of the SOPA, we can only be glad, I guess. Though I do still hate America - in general, not the Americans, unless they are idiots. Self explanitory - for my multitude of reasons. Obama is just slightly awesome. yea However, now that the bill was knocked back, the people who made it will probably start editing it like mad so it sounds nice and cheerful, but actually does what it originally did. That is how the government works.
Many Americans are idiots. So many people don't even know who the president is, what our type of government is, etc. It is kind of sad :/
CrystalCyae
Yea, just a little. Admittedly, I'm not even American, so I wouldn't know much more. But I have a legitimate excuse not to... I guess. Well, I only hate the idiots when they do something seriously idiotic that gets on the news. Then I just feel like slapping them all over. Even if the majority of American's weren't idiots, the government still is. And since that government is the [s]rulers of the world/s] a leading world power, we get so screwed. Bahamut - Envoy of the End
I can understand why people want the whole piracy thing cut out. If you're a music producer/film director spending millions on a product and then don't make a profit becuase everyone saw/heard it for free over the Internet then you're entitled to be pretty pissed. So I can see why something like it came about (and why some people were up in arms. 'If this thing goes through, I might have to pay to get things the legal way ohnoz!') Don't worry that was a joke, I know its more than that Don't understand a lot of what the SOPA thing went through but it did seem over the top if it was going to kill all those sites. A site like this does no harm to Konami though. If anything it generates a little bit of free interest. Surely any idiot can see that? I know there's more to it than that but still. EliminateHRN
I understand stopping piracy and stuff like that, but this is just going overboard. It seems as if they want to shut down the whole internet. I know some a lot of the Youtubers I watch are against it; Seamus (SSoHPKC) even made a video about how if SOPA went through, he wouldn't be able have his Snorlax toy thing in the background of all his face-time videos (although, he does make a lot of troll videos so I don't really know if he was being serious). I'm not going to worry about it until it happens/goes away. I'm hoping it doesn't happen. Also, I don't know if anyone heard of this, but Megaupload (I think that's the name) was shut down during an investigation of copyright infringement. I don't know if this has anything to due with SOPA/PIPA, but I thought it might be interesting to say.
bury the year
The only way to completely eliminate piracy is if companies give away their products for free without any middlemen. That’s never going to happen, so although the bills have a noble goal, they’re conceptually way overstepping their boundaries. That’s all I’m going to say on the matter itself. However, let’s assume the worst: SOPA and/or PIPA passes. In that case, I expect it to be a lot like the texting ban that was passed a few years ago. There’s gonna be a few flared-up cases at the beginning, some sites will fall (YCM could quite possibly be one of them), but after that it’d just go to inundate the court system with frivolous lawsuits. You act as if places like Facebook would fall automatically while not realizing that Facebook et al. can fight back. That is, of course, if the entire shenanigan passes, which I doubt it will. I’m not going to be as cynical as to say that Obama will reverse his “does not support” stance, especially with this being an election year. Flinsbon
They're already workin on another bill, called PCIPA - the "Protect Children from Internet Pornographers Act" that requires all online transactions to be recorded by websites with your CC # and ur ISP and stuff like that. So, if SOPA/PIPA doesnt pass...copy, paste to new bill. /discussion And nothing can be done, because who is going to publically oppose a "stop child porn" bill? No one, or if they do, any and all supporters of the bill will destroy them, plus the uninformed public. so now what do we do?

They won't oppose the bill itself, but they'll oppose the american goverment for repeatedly trying to pass this 1 bill. I mean. PCIPA? PIPA? there's only 1 letter difference, And don't ISPs already record all your browsing history? The American Goverment knows that a lot of people hate them, so it looks like they're backpedalling by making this bill. SOPA itself was a decent idea, but it was given the worst exucution possible. This bill seems to be less infringing on regular users of the internet, while still stopping Piracy and other Illegal acts. tl;dr: I don't mind america trying to stop piracy, but when they do it in a way that ruins legitimate users of the internet's browsing: there's a problem. Stopping Illegal acts is fine. Stopping perfectly legal acts by infringing on regular users looking up funny videos on youtube and so on? No. And it still doesn't solve the problem that they have absolutely no power regarding anyone outside the US. Meaning, only Users of the Internet in the US will be affected by any type of bill like this. How I'd go about this: 1)Try and shut down as many Illegal sites as possible, US or not. 2)Stop anymore Illegal sites from being created. 3)Ask companies: "Do you want your fanbase to be able to post videos and fanart etc?" As most companies will say they don't mind, as a fanbase is well... the core of any community. And let the games without a fanbase fade into obscurity. Tentacruel
Exactly, but to be honest if you're just posting a video for educational purposes (let's play) or to critique it (review), the company shouldn't even be able to take it down if they wanted to. Uchiha Sasuke XII
I admit, I've downloaded hundreds (maybe thousands) of songs, videos and games for free. I'm sure almost everyone does as well, but is it really so serious an act that it can put people in jail? How will this benefit the government anyway? WTFauKorean
damn the internet the topic I suck as most k here goes I actually did not know about this until my brother was complaining about how he couldn't look up Gorginghts of the movie small soldiers on Wikipedia. that made me ask myself did I not know about this because I spend a reasonably rational amount of time on the internet in balance to experiences of the outside world? or is it because I'm not being rational at this point and it has become the new generation standard to spend at least 4 hours or more on the internet a day? point I'm trying to make if this restriction does occur, we cannot label it instantly as "bad," we can only label it as an event of adaptation. How much restriction can we actually calculate and how will it affect socialization and human behavior by relation? I personally will not fight for or against SOPA but merely watch and prepare myself for adaptation if necessary the changes that occur or don't is purely up to those who show the greatest of effort, so those who want to take SOPA down hey go for it, those who don't which i haven't seen a lot of good luck to you too.
