He compliments this with slim black jeans and heavy brown boots. You could call it Punk, I suppose. Their is a noticeable scar on his left cheek, and his facial expression is one of self-respect and determination. Occupation: Duel Academy Student. Dorm: Ra Personality: Mason Burke is a rogue by nature. A charmer, a dealer, and a leader; he can talk his way out of mostly any situation. He has a distinct aura that attracts people, not too dissimilar to a human magnet. He is sociable, and tries his hardest to impress the opposite sex (and occasionally, his own). His character, although rather brash and patronizing at times, is inherently honest and raw; as opposed to being superficial. Having said this, he suppresses most negative criticism that comes his way; and any bad experience he faces is pushed to the back of his mind as opposed to being learnt from. This suppression makes him unhinged, and paranoid that he may 'snap'. When he is faced with something that he can't handle, his collective experiences tend to manifest themselves in the form of a bitter and controlling nature, and he will go to great lengths to protect himself and those he cares about; without fully realizing the consequences of his actions. Biography: The first things Mason Burke can remember are the towering iron gates of his Dad's manufacturing company. Having been brought up on a wave of wealth afforded by his Dad's multi-national business, Mason and his family were hit hard when his father, Reynold Burke died in unknown circumstances whilst on a business trip in Japan. As single child Mason and his Mother, Zara, were the only family members left; they had no way of financing the company, and were thrown into poverty. Having to survive with minimal possessions, Mason had to develop a method of earning respect from people and bribing objects, and at the lows of his poverty, food from the people he came across. Then, on one faithful day, he managed to persuade someone to give him an object that would change his life forever. Whilst sleeping rough, he had stumbled upon a group of people participating in a 'duel' on an alleyway. He watched in awe as a plethora of creatures battled amongst each other. Watching the fights summed up his life; "It's a dog-eat-dog world." After the duel had finished, he approached the loser and asked for more information. The loser proceeded to give him his deck, and he developed a new passion; dueling. From those meager cards, a seed grew in his mind. He had to create the greatest deck in the history of duel monsters. He showed natural dexterity on the duel field, enlisting in several local tourneys and coming out triumphant. He has scrimped and saved in order to afford a place in the prestigious 'Gold Academy'; and he now starts a new chapter in his life. Personality: (4+ lines)+Biography: (6+lines): Kai is a proud and very confident dualist who is willing to sacrifice everything to get what he wants, which he usually gets through hard work, sweat, tears or steel-hard determination, though he doesn't seem to mind stepping on some toes on his way up. However if he at any time doesn't succeeds in what he wants to do, he is very likely to feel down, and stay down for a while, in a depressed state, even willing to give up what he holds so dear, Forward:Cresent Dragon-card. However when time comes he overcomes his defeat and rises stronger and even more determined than before. Although rather introverted, Kai is one of the most emotionally driven duals in the matches and far more emotional when he is mad, depicting the great importance that dualing holds over his life. Even as a the captain of the Matches, he always kept a certain distance from his teammates. Kai was afraid to get to know them as he might start to like them which, eventually, happens. He has always acted alone without making friends and appeared to not know the meaning of friendship after being alone and friendless most of his life, only caring for his abusive grandfather who continuously used him. But when Kai was stuck in the ice at Lake and his teammates, whom he had betrayed and insulted, desperately tried to save him, he was appalled to realize that they liked him and never stopped being his friends, finally the 'invisible wall' he created as stated to take effect. As time progresses, he matures and becomes more open with his teammates and grows more comfortable around them. In the end, despite his differences with many of his peers in the community, Kai sacrifices a great deal to free the world for power even his friends if he has to.
