Clearly, Konami was thinking in German when they named C39

It's a very good card, but it's almost blatantly a last resort. You should really only run it in a Deck that can drop a Rank 4 with no warning (such as a Rabbit Deck). Otherwise, you could be losing and this could win, but you have no way to Summon 2 Level 4 monsters for Utopia -> Ray.

People naturally criticized me badly when this was first released, since I ran it for lolz in my Rabbit Deck. But it won me plenty of games I'd otherwise have lost, so I'm happy.

Space is still an issue. Most Decks can't run it.

I've seen lots of people finishing a duel with Utopia Ray, including a duel Klav had when he was at 50 LP and summoned this for game.

I did that twice, my dear chap, although the other time was at 100.

I vaguely recall a Duel where I Solemn Warning'd my own monster so that I could win with Utopia Ray.

And that's not like going out of my way just to laugh at my opponent. The alternative was playing defensively for a turn or two longer, vs winning that turn.

Aha, found the status message I made about that duel. This was WAY back in early October.

(From my status after the duel)

"Opponent has Grapha and 4100 LP. I have Utopia with 1 Material, and Emeral, and 3000 LP. I Normal Summon Tour Guide. After calculating briefly, I use Solemn Warning on my own monster. Then I Summon Chaos Number 39 and use its effect twice, raising its ATK to 3500 and Grapha to 700. Chaos Number destroys Grapha, dealing 2800 damage, and Emeral attacks for game."

You people have probably never experienced the orgasmic moment of stealing an Utopia with Bahamut and making this.

I dont like wasting an extra deck space on the off chance my opponent has a utopia when i draw mind control or make verz bahamut.

Could be just me.

Are you implying I'm stupid enough as to run C39 whilst not running 39? =/

Then there was that one game using RL cards and Traditional style Decks (with a few proxies on his end), where even though I could have EASILY won normally, I deliberately let him regain some advantage and dwindle down my LP.

Then I used a combination of Call of the Haunted, Reborn, and a Normal Summon to bring out 3 Level 4 Lights. Then I proxied Number C39 for game. I said I did it that way because it was much, much funnier than proxying Utopia AND Number C39.

But yeah, this card's good, but it depends on your Deck.
