Hitting the boss or hitting the searcher?

Recommended Posts

Hitting Earth cripples the speed at which Agents can get to their Venus/possibly teched Jupiter. It only takes one card in order to Special Summon Hyperion, and it can be Banished from anywhere except the Deck, and you can just as easily get that Banished monster back with Miraculous Descent.

EDIT: I forgot about the Dark Worlds part.

The difference between Earth and Snoww is that Earth goes off when it is Normal Summoned; Snoww goes off when it is discarded. Both of the boss monsters have the ability to destroy, so I see no problems with that. However, it is far too easy to dump Grapha into the Graveyard, Summon a random Dark World that you don't care about it, bounce it, and Summon Grapha. Hyperion has an actual cost, but it could be remedied later.

If you want to hurt a deck and not ruin it you hit the searcher.

Agents with only 1 Earth become inconsistent, but it doesn't destroy other builds that can function around Hyperion. With Earth, you can still make a ridiculously consistent deck, and all you have to do is fill in for the Hyperions.

Dark Worlds are somewhat similar, but the reasoning is different. Agents are good because they have numerous huge bosses, such as BLS, Hyperion and their synchros. Dark Worlds only have the one boss - Grapha. The problem with limiting Grapha as opposed to limiting Snoww is that you essentially kill the deck in every way imaginable, because it lost its only way to function. A lone Grapha is far too easy to permanently remove, so it makes the deck obsolete. With only 1 Snoww instead, however, the deck remains to be good and keeps its boss and thus ability to function, however the consistency and thus volatility of the deck is hit, stopping it from being too powerful.

This can also be applied to Inzektor Centipede. However it is again slightly different. Centipede's general move is to search for the Dragonfly for the next turns combos, or just to generally bring the pieces together for a play. With it, Inzektors gain godly consistency, but also keep those cards from being vulnerable as they are not on the field, which is the huge benefit to searching Dragonfly with it. With it hit, the player has to be smart about how they build their deck, but it doesn't stop the combos which Dragonfly will allow for which actually keep the deck viable.

Yeah, but Grapha is like twice as good as Hyperion.

Hyperion doesn't need any prior setup to be summoned, and Bottomless doesn't ruin the deck. It also pops 1 card just by being summoned.

Grapha needs to be put in the grave first, then you need to successfully summon and maintain a Dark World monster, then hope they can't do anything on Grapha's summon. Also, each Grapha destroys 1 card, tops. Hyperion can destroy 1 card every turn.

Sure, Grapha comes back easier, but you also need to take into account the decks, Grapha is Dark World's ONLY boss, Agents have plenty.

Lol at the above banlist.

On topic: Pretty much agree with Tristan's views in that searchers are more bannable than power.

For example I can see/would rather see Damsel limited before Hornet.

So if you disagree, kill Tristan and not me.

Konami: Gruf is going to be released. Because of Gruf, we're banning Hornet.
You: Fine, I can just use Gruf twice to make Volcasaurus, use it's effect, and then go into Gaia Tragoon. I don't need to destroy anythi-
Opponent: Solemn Warning in response to Volca.
You: ...FFFUUUUUUUUU
Konami: Problem?

Except I never said Dragonfly was the one to hit, I said to hit Centipede.

Fishborg is more of a Boss and Coelacanth is the Searcher, right? If it's like that, then I'm happy they got rid of the broken boss so they don't have to touch the otherwise almost-broken searcher...

Despite the size difference between both monsters, I guess this is true.
