You realize Germany existed long before Adolf Hitler was born right?

OT: Organized Religion. Yes, religious nuts will hate me for this, but I find religion to be against progress. When the church was in control of the governments in Europe, anybody who thought religion might be wrong would be branded a heretic and usually killed. If this oppression hadn't existed, imagine where humanity would be now.
Also, greed. It is also one of the banes of progress. Politicians get so consumed with power and money that they eventually stop caring about what's right and look towards profit.

Crusades of any kind would have never happened, and they have altered the world greatly.

But they're not anymore, making that statement almost irrelevant.

I'd have to say religion too, if not for it we would be 1000 more advanced, I wouldn't have been born, in fact, i guarantee none of you would have but at least its a better future. Also most arguments about gender and choices like abortion are religions biggest targets, not just Christianity or Catholosism but most every religion.

Oh and the instance where Justin beiber started making music

I know it's not anymore, but what if it never was? If that period of oppression never happened, people would have been able to think on their own and solve things instead of relying on an almighty being to fix all their problems for them. That would have led to a period where science and research were pushed therefore giving us huge advances in technology, medicine, etc.

tbh, Religion can stay. Sure, advancements in technology is important, but Religion is really a way of life. In fact, Religion may have been a driving force for technology to be progressed, since people found hope that nothing in their work would be impossible. As a result, people have worked diligently and lengthily, went through failures that most people would give up at, kept going, and then finally achieve their own goals. We have faith and grace to thank for that. I don't really know why the general public believes that religion commonly has you believe that everything is all right because that one grand deity will make everything better, but religion states that the one grand deity expects you to do things before making everything better.

Tbh, the one thing that can leave is unhappiness. It is unneeded and only leads to causing a vicious hate cycle.

With that being true, Religon is not only what brought advances in technology; Capitalism and the Free Enterprise System gave people more incentive to bring advances as well.
