Should you give up your seat for women on a bus?

THROWDOWN

Recommended Posts

I avoid this problem by not riding the bus.

Instead I drive around town asking random woman on the street if they'd like a ride.

I've only been accepted three times. Two were hookers who misinterpreted what I was saying and the other carjacked me.

A very thin man and a very fat lady were sitting on a bus when 3 old women got on. Noticing that there were no seats left, the woman asked the man, "Why don't you stand up and let one of these ladies have a seat?"

The man was an agitated fellow, so he retorted, "Why don't YOU stand up and let all three of them sit down?"

It's not sexist so long as it benefits the woman. Do/would you?

You kidding? Of course it's sexist. You're still basing actions on their sex instead of their person. It's the same reason affirmitive action is stupid.

I'm an incredibly vain and petty individual, I'd only do it if the girl were attractive.

I don't pull out my seat for anyone that's using the bus for hanging out, while I'm going to work/school.

It's only fair that people who use Buses for doing something necessary/productive get the privileges.

There are exceptions, obviously.

....What? Are there people that really just....ride the bus to hang out with their friends?

This sounds amazing. It's like a mobile secret clubhouse. We could bring juice and crackers and talk about boys.

Unless the person is old (either man or woman) or a woman who is pregnant, I do not give up the seat. I do not also give up the seat sometimes because all the old people have already taken all the seats so I have to stand. This usually happens in the mornings.
