DARK/Spellcaster/Level 4/1500 ATK/1000 DEF
He inflicts Piercing damage...
That's about it.
But he's easily searchable by GKs, and becomes a 2000 with Piercing with Necrovalley.
What's wrong with running him in a Gravekeeper's Deck?

Because there's no room for this, and the deck doesn't need it.

Why not?

Because Assailant is a card.

Yes, Assailant is a card...what about it?

I understand basic English.
I just don't know why you're pointing out that Assailant is a card.
I know Assailant is a card.
So thank you for stating the obvious.
But neither of you have really answered my question.
Would you kindly do that?

Why would you play this when Assailant is a card ffs

Again, could someone please explain why Spear Soldier is bad in a Gravekeeper's Deck?
Assailt has a much better effect than Spear Soldier. That's all you need to know as to why Spear Soldier isn't run.
Then why do most people only run 1 Assailant?

In GKs you want a low monster count, so your lineup is:

3 Recruiter
3 Spy
3 Commandant
3 Descendant
1 Assailant
0-1 Guard
0-1 Malefic Stardust

That's it. This has a useless effect and takes up space that they don't want taken up.
Why such a low monster count?
Is it for that silly Royal Tribute card?
That card seems really odd. Why would you discard all of your monster cards in order to discard all of your opponent's?

Because Gravekeeper's takes skill to use that you evidently don't have.

GK's play their monsters on the board, and use RT to win, essentially. A first turn RT, especially, wins games by itself. See, the low monster count avoids you being the target of it, but it also means they have tons of room for S/Ts, which they need in order to hold their own in the metagame.

Basicially this. RT is dustshoot on crack and without plants the graveyard derping has died down slightly.

Assailant is alot better then because it allows to pick the weakest stats of the attack target and change it to that position, which is superior in most cases then just simply piercing damage, since there are cases where ATK positions are a weaker stats. But it's only ran at 1 (or sometimes 2, but that's rare) because Descendant is superior than the other 2, because it actually pops cards and is just as searchable as the other 2 monsters, and the monster that searches it is a buffy wall that can easily survive batles with low level monsters and its search effect is easy to pull, so Descendant has easy access for Tribute fodder to pop cards, not to forgot we also have cards like Gravekeeper's Stele, which recycles Spy & co.

See YCM, it's not that hard to give an actual argument and prove someone wrong while making hime/her better at this game without having to turn into a monkey and throw your own droppings at the person.

Thank you very much.
I think I get it now.
What about Guard, though?
It blasts Zenmaines, Gachi, and Stardust back to Kingdom Come.

This.... take a hint guys.
Since Hyperion has pretty much explained it, I'll pout it as:
tl;dr: It's outclassed by cards which can do a better job, and thus wastes deckspace which could easily be used for some other card(s).

Guard's good in the metagame because Laggia can't run over it and it can immediately remove it from the field.

Also, I may not always explain things elaborately, but that's because I expect who I'm explaining it to to be able to actually think without me spelling everything out, is that such a bad thing? I don't think so. I may not have the highest expectations from YCM, but I at least expect something.

Actually, I was thinking about running them together, with about half of my deck monsters instead of a third, but I have learned of how a proper Gravekeeper's Deck is run, and I understand.
Thank you all very much.
So, how many Rite of Spirits should I run, or is that also a bad Gravekeeper's card?
