2 Level 6 monsters
Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a monster effect is activated on your opponent's side of the field: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the effect, and if you do, inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.

So.. When a player uses a monster effect, I can just detach a material and nothing happens.
Then if I choose to negate said effect, they take 1000 damage.

Seriously, why is this card's OCG weird like that.

[s]Shard made a typo, that's a semi-colon on the card. So they're doing the usual "if you get it through, X happens" thing.[/s]

WELL THEN
That's still not how the card works, if I'm reading this correctly.

So there was this one time, I was using Hieratics *Shot* and I brought this guy out with Gustaph, and then I used Gustaph, and he was gonna kill my Opponent, but he used Gorz, and I was gonna lose, but I had this, so my Opponent lost instead.

I know how the card works.
I just find it weird how they worded it like: "Yea, ok, you can detach a material. But do you REALLY want to negate it's effect as well?".
Just seems weird, TBH
If the effect isn't negated, is the 1000 damage inflicted?
