[/quote] It's not supposed to be a stand-alone Synchro. It never was with the ability to derp out another Monster from the deck. You're supposed to put it in tandem with other stuff, mostly the crap we're going to be seeing as promos down the line. This is especially emphasized on when the magazine itself advertised that it's supposed to see support down the line, while we're not going to see this card til July or August (can't be arsed to remember which). Which means, yeah, WJMP and Saikyou JUMP are going to make it rather evident that this isn't supposed to be used alone, like an archetype... while it isn't one (or is one, depending on Shueisha/Konami). Expelsword Posted June 22, 2012 Report Share Posted June 22, 2012 If it was Level 6 or 8 1 FIRE Tuner + monster 2XXX ATK/200 DEF And summoned a Level 4 or lower FIRE (even if it blocked Special Summoning for the rest of the turn) It would totally be worth using. As it is, for Lavals, Dragoon is stronger, is a better searcher, and doesn't put any restrictions on your summons. This will never be used in a Tier 1 sense, barring some epic support like Johnny promises (which I have no idea what it could be), and will only be used for oddball combos. Agro Posted June 22, 2012 Report Share Posted June 22, 2012 This may be just a simple prediction, but my guess is this is Konami preparing to stop simply shoving Xyz down everyone's throats and go to the more sane idea of letting people play Synchros AND Xyz. Seeing as you can't go into Level 5's after this card is brought out, your Obvious second plan will be going for Rank 3. It seems pretty clear to me that the cards that are going to be released to support our good friend here will be Level 3 FIRE monsters meant to quickly make Level 6 Synchros and Rank 3 Xyz. It wouldn't be hard to tack on an effect that makes that possible to each of them. At least, no different than tacking on the once-per-turn-equip effect of Inzektors. Just go "oh hey, it has nice artwork"? There's literally nothing else to discuss, knowing nothing about what else is coming out. We can assume it's going to be terrible anyway, the only FIRE decks that currently even exist are Lavals and Evols. Evols can't abuse this since it's level 6, and Lavals f*** up their own deck by playing this without it being from a first turn Firedog into Sprite play, and seeing as the cards that are meant to work with this are promos (iirc) then there won't be many to f***ing work with it, and Rank 6 spam, using fires, is never ever going to become decent. The entire Rank 6 field is completely dominated by Hieratics because they make it so much easier than anything else, and yes that includes any deck that Hoshin could abuse unless they decide to print a target for him that becomes a magical +3. Yes, we know it's probably going to be inferior to something else unless the support is broken. There's no more point to discussing this than Tour Guide or Fran Ken. It's one of YCM's infamous topics that: A. OMG SO BROKE B. OMG SO BAD or C. What the hell is this, do not print as is (Involving either A or There's NOTHING left to discuss.
