Dementuo
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Yata-Garasu Can we try to have an intelligent discussion about Broken Birdy without just saying "b& 4ever"?

Toffee.
>Requires you to Normal Summon it Such an un-heard of game mechanic >Requires a direct attack Well with Dark Hole, and a bunch of various monster removal, thats easy >Opponent can do the same That why you sack with Storm >Opponent might also have Necro Gardnas and/or Faders .... >Its searchable via Sangan I'm still iffy on it. Expelsword
Unlike cards which destroy advantage "Dark Hole", etc. This card renders you unable to generate advantage, i.e. once you are in the Dark Hole, there's no way out.
Sleepy
This card was made waaay back in the day. I can really understand it's existence since they were actually experimenting with the game. Looking at it this way, it doesn't sound too bad on paper (trying to put myself in the shoes of the designers back in the day): It has low ATK, low DEF, low Levels, it cannot be Special Summoned, and it needs a direct attack to work. Not to mention that it keeps using up your Normal Summon if you want to keep the lock present, and any ATK boosting equips that might accelerate the process will be lost after it leaves the field in it's mandatory way. Your opponent should be able to stop the lock by just Summoning/setting a monster with more than 200 ATK/DEF to prevent Yata from repeating itself next turn. After all, the lock shouldn't be a lock unless your opponent either has no hand/field, OR your opponent has a bunch of cards completely unusable at the moment. If you want to keep it on the field to achieve future Normal Summons, you could run that Continuous Spell that requires a discard every turn, essentially making up for the achieved advantage. Not to mention Yata is too weak and can be taken out by virtually anything. [/devil's advocate] Of course, I have actually seen people receive a Yata attack and get back up in the past, but that very rarely happens. Most of the time in actual use, if the player gets touched by Yata, they pretty much loose that instant. It might take a while, but your premonition of victory has been declared. It is a crow after all. It translates it's flavor pretty well with bad luck, and being a yokai and all. As for balance, it ended up being a flop. I don't think the people in charge back then really realized it. It was a common originally after all, meant to be a plot device for the anime. Could this ever come back from the ban list? I think yes. There is a possibility. Cards expected to be on the banlist in the past are now just "ok", and generating more card advantage becomes easier and easier as the game grows. I can imagine the game becoming more ridiculous with ease. Eventually reaching the point of not worrying about having no hand or field after it's attack, because you'll bring a boss next turn. Though, for the mean time. No, it shoudn't be back. I could see a nerfed version being created in many ways if Konami wanted to make one. -Preventing it from doing it 2 turns in a row, so it would only cut in half the opponent's Draw Phases. -Making it a "once per duel" effect. Which is totally viable, but it's the lazy way. between others.
Dwarven King
Or...be like me and set five backrow which includes Starlight Road, Judgment, two warnings, and a Torrential. Come at me Yata!
DARKPLANT RISING
Or...be like me and set five backrow which includes Starlight Road, Judgment, two warnings, and a Torrential. Come at me Yata!
I use Night Shot on Judgment and activate Decree 'cause I'm that awesome. OT: Reason's easy why it's one of the ever-banneds. Laggia when your opp's got nothing, Dark Hole on 5 monsters, Heavy on 5 backrow...those are pretty much victories, but chances the tables might turn at least exist if your opponent has Yu in his name. Yata-Garasu is a "must-100%-without-any-doubt-guranteed-win", regardless of whether he is a Yu or not. The difference's there, and it's the border between the Limited and the Banned. Jord200
As said, its in between ban worthy and limit worthy. Its not like CED, Feather Duster, Raigeki, PoG, DSF, or Fiber which all will probably never see the light of day again. It COULD be unbanned one day. Maybe once we get a couple more ways around it. Zowayix
I could see this getting unbanned if we get more cards that can activate from the Graveyard, or even the Banished Zone or Deck. (I might be dreaming, but wasn't there a card with the effect "Banish this card in your Graveyard: Negate an opponent's attack [and end the Battle Phase(?)]."?) (That was a lot of punctuation marks stacked up at the end.) If we get more cards like that, with other effects, Yata might be unbanned. Aerion Brightflame
It's iffy. I think theres more saying that this should stay banned, since Sky Scourge Norelas and Lavlaval chain exist, and would set up the combo quickly. But... again, its not as garunteed game over now with Necro Gardna. Maybe in a few years when the game evolves and has more stuff that stops attacks in grave it could see a return. But it is not this day.
