Blake
He doesn't want a third admin unless he hires them BECAUSE they'd have the power to wreck the site. He's too lazy to actually update the card maker, which he estimated would take a week. People with knowledge of programming said it should take 20 or so minutes to fix it. He cares about the people coming to the card maker, but the more glitches it gets, the less income he'll receive, and he'll be forced to fix it. I mean, who would use yugico if this card maker worked? tl;dr it's a waiting game. He doesn't care until he loses money.

Lord English
Well, I've only been on this account for a few days (I stopped using my old account and apparently it was banned for inactivity) and I already don't feel like staying for long. It's like a ghost town. Almost everyone has left, even the people I became friends with on the forums (of whom I miss). A lot of my current hobbies (like reading Homestuck and making Pokemon Sprites) exist solely because of this website. I was pretty young when I joined, and learned a lot (without the years of me being on this website, I probably would never have gotten into a certain class at school (which you had to take a test for (it's a primary school )) and I wouldn't have had the opportunity to do the stuff I'm doing today, including some recordings for a TV show). I've really grown into the forums, but now it's falling apart. As said, good things never last.
Catterjune
If he cares so much, why would he exhibit such negligent behavior?
He still gets paid, regardless of what you, me, or my dog Skip think about the Card Maker. He won't bother fixing it until there's a notable decline in what he's paid.
And why would he not hire an admin that he trusts with the programming knowledge to fix the card maker?
Honestly, I dunno. Probably because at the end of the day all that matters is money and hiring someone would just cut into his bottom line. But this is mostly just conjecture. Admiral Tim
Personally I have to focus on other things in real life more than I need to focus on in YCM. I'm getting more inactive but I agree, YCM is "dying" because our cherished elite members are now gone. Well I say we need a new...'generation' of elite members so to speak. It still doesn't help we have no Admin.
Synchronized
I've been here since 2007 and I swear I see one of these threads at least once every two months, if not more. The Forum has changed a lot in terms of people, but activity wise and whatnot, it's really not that much different and it's very similar to how it used to be. Things change and some people try and twist that as though the board itself is changing.

JadenxAtemYAOI
Agreed. Tronta was my buddy and he's gone. Joshua left. Random Dude is somewhere. Weer32 left. I left for a long time and will be leaving for a longer time after December but it's life. YCM is like high school. As the years go by your friends go away and hardly come back again. Then there comes the day you leave and so the cycle of missing someone goes on. There might be good news because one of irl friends might buy this site from Will. Darth Revan of the Sith
So in essence this topic has recycled... Walking down YCM memory lane. Ranting about not being like it used to be. YCM dying. Admins ain't doing sh*t. Now wait a minute. I know I have seen these somewhere before... Marisa Kirisame-ze
Lucky for me, YCM was practically at it's peek during the time I first joined, when my life was ordinary and mundane (so the internet was my favorite thing because it was more exciting than anything middle school could offer). But now that I'm a junior in high school, and my life is incredibly busy and constantly a whirlwind, I lost any serious care for the internet. But it's satisfying to drop in when there's nothing else to do. EDIT.
What are you talking about? YCM is exactly the same. See? Here's another topic with someone whining about how YCM isn't the same anymore. Exactly the same as I remember it.
And just when I thought you were gone for good, you always make unpredictable appearances, Tyler. I actually really missed you and your posts. DARKPLANT RISING
I've been recently inactive. Not 0-post-everyday-type of inactive, but very similar to that. Mainly since, the site isn't as fun as before. Level of humor has drastically dropped these days in the TCG section, and probably including myself. The only real reason I was ever here has been destroyed. The facts that (1) Inzektors made the OCG format a hellhole and (2) I made all the decks I possibly could, and can't build any more new stuff aren't doing much better to me. Not to mention, schoolwork is increasing. I can't spend all my time on here. When I'm not studying, I'm writing. Writing stories to, ultimately, submit to contests. If I can win the Dengeki Award, which I think I can, that means I'll be able to publish my own novel. It'll be made into an anime then, if it goes like all the previous examples. When that happens, I'll tell you guys. But honestly, writing is more fun than Yugioh now.
.Spock
Things change. I decided to join NF (If anyone wants to know the full-name of the forum inbox me, I don't want a hefty warning for advertisement) and things are overly-active there in the general section of it. On first glance it appears to be directed at one anime, but there are sub-catagories for other anime. It's actually one of the most actively used forums in the English-speaking world. YCMaker obviously isn't going to change anything until his pay takes a noteable drop. There's no point in complaining because he really doesn't care. He's still making decent money from the site because (I estimate) at least 50-or-so members join in a week just to save their cards. Nothing more. That right there is money in his pocket. We aren't going to change anything and there is no point in complaining. Sorry to break it to you guys.

T. Sankara
YCM loses its touch when people you hold as the most important members leave. That's all there is to it.
There's no doubt about that. Once people like God Kage vanished, most followed suit. I could name a few others but it's too difficult.
The decline of the forums is pretty simple: less people were joining and staying. We also have competition in the form of the DN forums and Yugico.
Who the hell is Yugico? Have I really been gone THAT long? The Tin Trooper
Everything has it's time. It's just unfortunate that YCM is finally starting to circle the drain. Pity really, I've been on this site on and off since 2007. Seven months, I've been gone. Just when I thought I'd left for good, I get dragged back into YCM, only to discover erryone is gone. Not that people remember me anyway. ;____________________;

I'm pretty sure we did a set together, but I don't know for sure. That was back when people actually posted cards here. Back then, if you had created a thread, after clicking refresh it wouldn't be at the top anymore. Now, threads stay on the same page for days at a time. I very, very rarely ventured to other forums, I stayed mostly in Pop Culture. So I have no idea how those forums are compared from then and now. But I know that the actual card forums are dead.
