What is it with the anime and it's inability to come up with clever and realistic ways to get out of these horrible situations?
The plot devices it uses nowadays look like something a 6 year old would invent on the spot just to get out of that specific complex situation in a role play or something, and nothing else.

OT:
Card is 2 things.
1) Incredibly situational and specific.
2) Incredibly OTK-friendly on the once-in-a-lifetime chance you'll actually use it.

^not a great combination in card design.
