[/quote] You know how Monster Cards don't have their Monster Effects while they are Equipped as Spell Cards, unless the Monster Effect specifically states it has an effect while being Equipped as a Spell Card? If the card effect states that it is applied when it becomes a material or while it is overlaid, then those effects will work. I wouldn't expect an effect like this would start a chain, like the text states though. Who ever heard of "The activation of an Xyz Material" (as the effect that would be activating would not be considered a "Monster Effect" activation). In any case, even though its anime only, and what I just said is speculation based on other similar scenarios, its only a matter of time before effects like these appear in the card game.
