Expelsword
I learned how to solve one yesterday. It's decidedly less about being a genius than you think. Anyone else do them, have one still incomplete from years ago, or cheat and take it apart/paint over it, etc.? Cin
I've never had one actually, and I'd probably either cheat or just leave it be.
Fusion X. Denver
I've always found it cool how Will Smith can solve one in like half a minute. Unfortunately it's not as great a feat as it used to be once you look up how to do it online and memorize patterns.
Catterjune
I used to know how to solve it. But I always forget the second-to-last step and then can't solve it. It still took like 4 minutes for me to solve though.
Flame Dragon
I would just solve 1 side of the cube. I've come close to 2 though. Yes, I'm bad at this.
Expelsword
The thing is, you have to be willing to mess up the sides you have in order to do the rest. If you do it right, you can bring them back, However, I'm not sure you can go from having no sides solved to suddenly having them all.
Silverweed91
I like Rubik's Cubes I learned from some youtube tutorials how to solve 3x3, 4x4 and 5x5 cubes, but I'm not a practiced speedcuber (it takes to me sort of 1-2 minutes for the 3x3, but the 5x5 can take more than a quarter of hour! xD) By the way, if the faces aren't simply uniform-colored but orientation-wise (like the cube in your pic) it gets a lot harder to solve it! The Amazing Avian
I can get a 3x3 and a 4x4 done in a little over a minute each. But I can't do anything more. I didn't use tutorials either, but my cousin did teach me some math that made it easier.
ihop
Apparently Justin Bieber can also do it in about 50 seconds. I've never been able to do this, it just doesn't seem to work for me and I'm bad at this sort of puzzle stuff.
Alice Moonflowyr
Huh. Bieber actually has a talent. Who woulda thought? These thing stump me. But I dont look online, so yeah.
ListenToLife
Learnt how to solve one a week or two ago, got it down to about 1 minute at best, averaging around 1.30-2 minutes. My cubes really old and stuff though, so if I had a better cube I could probably do it faster. It's really the same thing each time, the same algorithms over and over, so I picked it up quite easy. If you're good at maths or music, or anything else with repeated patterns like that, you should be able to learn it with relative ease. Never gonna be as good as that world record kid. 5 seconds or something. I mean seriously, dafuq? Helps me to concentrate though, and when I'm a bit pissed off or stressed, I now just turn to my Cube and solve it, mess it, solve it and repeat until I'm feeling a little better. Anyone else get that?

WindupRabbitFan14
I can solve one - my average is around 30-35 seconds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39IXagWHtnQ

Silverweed91
Huh. Bieber actually has a talent. Who woulda thought? It doesn't take all that talent to speed-solve a cube. It takes lots of training and dedication (mostly to learn how to quickly apply the algorithms)
D.A._Sakuyamon
I can only remember up to the where you have to get the side middle corners (which really isn't that hard once you know what your doing). I do know that I have legitimately solved it once though.
