ihop
Not the best IMO. Lots of conditions for not a very big payoff.
Strider Tigerwolf
With this wording...you "can't" activate Spellbook of Secrets, then copy it with Sefer, then search again right? Or am I just overthinking things?
Hermit Purple
I don't think you can If i'm right, if you could use "Sefer" on "Secrets" then people would just grab sefers and dump them all in Grave for the effect of "Reaper of Prophecy". I assume it would be something like this... Activate "Sefer" >Reveal "Power" from hand >target "Secrets" in grave > activate the effect of "secrets" through "Sefer's effect and grab another "Sefer" from deck > repeat (Could be wrong though) EDIT: *fail* just read the "Once per turn" . Although some part of me feels like you can use sefer on secrets even though secrets is once per turn. Wouldnt it just count as sefer's effect? "Spellbook of Sefer" is not named "Spellbook of Secrets", so nowhere in Sefer's copy is a "Spellbook of Secrets" activated a second time in a turn. Saynt
1. Secrets + Batel + Power + Sefer = 12 potential searches. 2. Gives an option for both getting Spellbooks in grave for Reaper as well as being able to reuse Eternity to recycle banished Spellbooks. 3. Extra counter for Star Hall. 4. You probably shouldn't take my word for it, but that artwork is awesome.
werewolfjedi
this is without a doubt to me this is the best spellbook I can have at hand at any time, because it's every book. the requirements for it are lax and I can always figure out some sort of comeback with this card. if any book actually needs a semi or a limit, it's this one, this book is quite simply, EVERY SPELL YOU EVER NEED IN PROPHECY. it will ether get you the card you need or be the card you need to play. it's that powerful
Lonk
After playing with this, I can conclude that this card is, indeed, amazing at what it does. Gives additional searches, gives additional 1k boosts, can search once more from the banish zone, can add more cards from the top of the deck, ect. Synchronized
They keep printing these cards that make Prophecies seem extremely good on paper but they still haven't made that one card that will make them function as a Deck with a real win condition.
it's coming in the next set for sure after reaper and everything, they only have the world judgment and the wheel of fortune. those are big cards in the major arcana, and I only see wheel of fortune as a spellbook, to which I see it being a straight up draw card that requires spellbook discards. Toffee.
Despite the fact you can copy a Spell Book you just activated~ Why the hell is this card's OCG so awkward?

evilfusion
The OCG is awkward because it wants to clarify that you only copy the effect, NOT the activation condition or cost. Think of all the rulings with Diamond Dude in terms of whether you can activate a sent Spell's effect even if you don't have Blue-Eyes (Burst Stream) or discarding for Magical Stone. It also wants to point out that it's treated as Sefer's effect, not the original Spellbook, thus the "You can only activate 1 "Spellbook X" per turn" line doesn't conflict. Strider Tigerwolf
Okay, after re-reading and understanding it's effect, I've been doing this lately: Secrets -> Play Spellcaster + Sefer + Reveal = 2nd Secrets -> Tower OR Star Hall (Open First Turn), OR Power (Open Second Turn) -> Tower, Star Hall OR Spellbook tech. If I open up with Justice, I go for Tower near immediately since I'll rack +s during the End Phase (Secrets + Priestess), If I open up with a Temperance, I go for [s]Elma[/s] Eternity, banish (even if the effect is trolled on by Veiler since banishing is a cost) Secrets, return with Elma since that sets me for my next turn OR Power (given I judge their back row and monsters not a threat). In nearly all instances, Spellbooks hardly go wrong and Sefer is just so nice in giving you that "extra" search which is in most cases just a mill, aiding in consistency and Reaper Spellbook Grave set-up for several +s. Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
Spellbooks really are a one-trick pony. I have been testing them in different variants lately, but you always end up pulling the same combo every time. The only variation is if you use Stoic or Apprentice or Reasoning/Wonder Wand for turbo, and if you want a more stun variety with 3 Powers/Breakers/Kycoo/Magelliene or however that Madolche's name is spelled. Plus you have to decide if you're going to play traps at all, considering the more Spellbooks, the better. Other than that, Wonder

This is how i read the effect literally unless there is actually a hidden meaning to the effect.
