Aerion Brightflame Posted December 3, 2012 Report Share Posted December 3, 2012 If the weapon gave 1000 instead of 500 it would be pretty good, but it's not... Bauo himself is one of the better Guardians if you can pump him up enough. He, Axe of Despair, Ojama Trio, and Blades of Flashing Light is actually quite funny to use. What they needed was a way to actually search, equip and maintain the field whilst drawing into things like Ceal, Eatos, possibly Grarl to pickof your opponents monsters, and smash till they stop twitching. evilfusion Posted December 4, 2012 Report Share Posted December 4, 2012 The Equip is good, although the discard does hurt. Baou is cool, but he starts off WAY too weak. The Guardians in themselves look fun, but they're all awful. Weak stats, underwhelming effects, and to Summon them, you need a specfic Equip, which in themselves tend to be underwhelming. Elma can't even be used outside of Setting it, due to Butterfly Dagger. In present day, they're 100% unplayable. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If the equipped monster is a "Guardian" monster, it gains 500 more ATK and DEF. If the equipped monster battles an opponent's monster: The opponent's monster's effect is negated. During the Damage Step: You can target 1 "Guardian Boau" you control; equip this card to that monster. While you control "The Seal of Orichalcos", your opponent cannot activate Spell or Trap effects in response to the equipped monster's attack. Guardian Boau (fix): If you control a "Wicked-Breaking Flamberge - Boau", you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). If this card would be targeted by a card effect, or if it would be destroyed, you can destroy an Equip Card equipped to it, instead. When it attacks or is attacked, it gains 1000 ATK and DEF after Damage Calculation. While equipped with "Wicked-Breaking Flamberge - Boau", apply it's effect to all "Guardian" monsters you control, too. Did I overdid it? OT: Have always liked Guardians, but must recognize just how many issues they have, from low ATK, to their effects being all over the place, and their hard Summoning conditions that rarely make up for the effort. Elma is not Summonable. Tryce sounded fun back in the day, nowadays: Tribute Summon? *pff* Grarl was outclassed by how easily people Special Summon 2500 ATK beaters with more consistence nowadays. This lacks a lot of ATK to start with, needs to destroy what it battles, and it's equip needs a discard. Kay'est has that ruling that doesn't make it a real wall. The bow guy.... it's funny how it's outclassed by Gilfried the Sword Master... self-explanatory. Eatos is Eatos, she's the best Guardian of the bunch, I want to see Celestial Sword someday....
