Outside of the ridiculous Big Eye combo, it can also make Rank 4s easily. It's too versatile.

^ Black, I pulled a Harpie's Pet Dragon out of Retro Pack 02 the other day and sold it for $70 on eBay the same day, lmfao.
If they don't make this a Secret I'll be 100% surprised. Even though the Deck is over-hyped.

They won't. They'll make Hysterical Sign secret

It makes Harpie's Pet Dragon playable.
It is therefore cool.
This.

Its like the same thing as Geargias, in the sense that they took some random 1-off card, and then included more cards that made it playable.

Incredible card in an incredible deck with very solid Tier 1 credentials.

I assume you mean "potential"?

If not, I doubt that highly. It's just an inconsistent deck that plays 2 good cards. It can play the grindy-ness of Rescue Rabbit, with all the weaknesses and not much of the reward. Sure, has its merits, and can make some pretty good plays and any half-decent pilot should be fine with it, but when you consider the fact that also drawing the Dragon means a skipped draw phase, problems occur.

Drawing Dragon is just fodder for Channeler/Party
Drawing anything like Sign + a Harpie, or just Channeler will put you in a great position for the rest of the game
It's not affected by any continuous Spell/Trap like Poisonous Winds, Macro etc because of Hunting Ground
Hysteric Party is a game winner
It had great type support cards like Icarus Attack
It can play Gozen Match

I think it could be.

So, a lot of worse 2-card combos than Wind-Ups.

Less resiliency than DWs.

Not as well-placed against meta decks as Heroes.

Not as explosive as Merlanteans.

I'm just listing other decks that rely on 2-card interactions, of course. I won't believe this deck is remotely tier 1 until I see some results tbh, it just seems overhyped and underwhelming.

And Party hardly seems like an argument, it needs so much prior setup to be at all good.

Harpies are now placed to be a good undermeta fun deck (most likely only winning random locals) but it definitely isn't a tier 1 deck. Theirs just no consistency. No matter what your build really looks like you still end up with some pretty aweful potential dead draws.

Hunting Ground, Egotist (yeah its a dead draw at times), Dragon

Channeller just does a good job of turning potential dead draws into something worthwhile. At the same time she has to be on the field for that to be useful so when you don't have her out you just sit still in dead hand city.

I'd take that over Channeler, but you know that means Channeler is going to be a Super. I expect they'll get serious Prophecy syndrome.

That being said, Chris, I think you make the most valid arguments and almost echo my thoughts; they're way too hyped right now. The only thing is, I genuinely believe Konami will make a broken TCG exclusive to capitalize on the hype and really get people sold on the Deck. I'm betting on a Structure Deck, too, with reprints of Hysteric Party (maybe even as a foil) and Harpie's Pet.

Summoner Monk loves the free Egotist Food. And so does Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds along with Icarus Attack, Swallow's Nest and Kujakujaku.
... That sounds absolutely f***ing awful.

First off, I'd rather dump Sign itself with Monk, because rulings on sign are unclear, due to a unique wording, so it's better safe than sorry.

Barrier Statue is just awful here, and in general. Why would you ever run such a cloggy, easy to kill card that can backfire when you go to Xyz?

Icarus Attack and Swallow's Nest aren't bad, but why would you run 2-3x Kujakujaku with only each other as the targets for Nest, when they in absolutely no way aid your win condition while on the field? I mean, they search Channeler and Queen, but that's not worth wasting space on 3 of them for situational tributes.
