mostly. it more specifically means "defender" "protector of men". alexander the great is obviously the most famous person with the name and likely the main reason for its popularity

Probably.  He did take over half the damn world after all.  :P

One of my favorite historical figures (#1 being Robespierre, o'course).

Simon: From Σιμων (Simon), the New Testament Greek form of the Hebrew name שִׁמְעוֹן (Shim'on) which meant "he has heard". This was the name of several biblical characters, including the man who carried the cross for Jesus. However, the most important person of this name in the New Testament was the apostle Simon, also known as Peter (a name given to him by Jesus). Because of him, this name has been common in the Christian world. In England it was popular during the Middle Ages, though it became rarer after the Protestant Reformation.

Angel is my name, and the coolest meaning I get from it is "sent by god", but it usually just translates to "messenger".

My last name is Rea. Which pretty much means "timid" or "shy". It's Scottish in origin.

Soooo... my full name probably translates to something like:

"The timid one sent by god" or "Shy messenger"

*shrugs*

^ and that's why I always say your name is damn perfect. haha.

Rea fits surprisingly well, even if it's not even Mexican.

I went a few days without a name, because no one could decide. My mom went through some CRAZY names, before an aunt finally suggested Thales. My mom loved it, so stuck with it.

Thales comes from the Greek word "thallo" which means 'to blossom'

My last name is Frye (coincidentally, I'm the only person in my immediate family since my grandma's brother, Henry Frye, to have it as a LAST name, not as a middle name.)

It means "seedling" or "offspring"

I actually couldn't find anything solid for my middle name.....

Regardless, my name's rather unique (Greek first name + British/USA last name = badass) and I like it.

However I do think it's a bit weird, so it's a love-hate thing.

Which basically equates to me not caring much at all about the topic.

On that note, this is the Frye family crest, apparently

I like it.
