GM Post: Titans Alpha

It was still early in the morning and the sun was just rising past the tips of Janus City's skyscrapers. The light of the sun glinted off the buildings and the bustling hover cars that swarmed around the city like bees to a hive. From afar, it was impossible to tell that crime and evil thrived on the streets of Janus. From afar, you could convince yourself that it was utopia. But, Long Shadow knew better. He had been stationed here for quite some time and had seen the dark underbelly to this city, and many others. Appearances were often deceiving.

It had been upon Long Shadow's request that Titans Alpha be stationed here. Not only to clean up these streets, but also to alleviate some of the stress from his shoulders. With the Titans now here, Long Shadow would not have to keep an ever vigilant eye on the people of Janus. In fact, he would only be here for a short while longer. Other League members would be coming to lend a hand and tutor the new initiates. Things would definitely be different now. No longer would he have to deal with the cold mornings and colder nights on Lake Superior.

Stepping away from the window, the dark shrouded hero examined the main living quarters of Titan's Tower. He did have to admit though, he was a bit jealous of the new Titans' pad. It was so much better than what he had been given he had been stationed here. Before he could admire the room farther a light beeping sound interrupted the silence. A holographic panel lit up in the center of the room, flashing, begging Long Shadow to either accept or deny the incoming holo-call. Without moving, a tendril of black mass snaked towards the panel, originating from Long Shadow's shadow. It pressed the button and upon doing so a large, holographic screen appeared overhead. Turning, Long Shadow faced the caller, or rather callers. Five faces confronted him, each a member of the Justice League. Each a volunteer that had offered to tutor the new initiates. "Are they there yet?" Long Shadow shook his head. "Not yet, but they will be soon. I'll call you when they have all gathered." The other members were silent, simply nodding before logging off. Long Shadow could tell that today, would be a long day.

[spoiler=OOC]

Alright guys, this is just simply the introductory part of the RP. Here we will just be introducing your characters and gaining some more guidance as to how this RP is going to go. You can interact with the other Titans Alpha members, but remember, most of you are meeting new people and are trying to make a good impression. Once everyone has posted at least once, I will make another GM post giving more directions. DO NOT GO CHECK OUT YOUR ROOMS YET!

Peter Allen, a.k.a. "Portal",'s excitement went on overflow the moment he stepped off the train... the moment approaches. Truthfully, he had half an hour to kill before he was required to arrive, but nevertheless, he ignored the city's utopian climate and various points of interest and charged right onwards, following the holographically displayed directions projected by his watch. The Titan Tower wasn't too far ahead, he didn't need a taxi, he didn't even need to fly, besides, the run provided a way to pump off some of his adrenaline and calm him down. The self-satisfaction brought on by exercise would also be a nice additional reward awaiting him for when he reaches his destination.

The nature of psionic abilities, powers that stem from the mind, is that when the user's emotions go wild, when the user's mind is stimulated, the powers are set off and a few unfortunate bystanders were teleported a few feet away from where they were originally positioned as Portal brushed past them in his hurry. Perhaps he looked like a flickering aquamarine firefly buzzing past at great speed. He barely slowed down to offer quick, rather insincere, apologies before hurrying on.

Portal skidded to a stop. He had made it. With a breathless sense of anticipation, he approached the automatic sliding door which let him in. Here he was, in the lobby of the city's centre of justice, ready to take on his own righteous path. He would be defender of the innocent, judge of the unjust and wicked, he would be an idol to be worshipped, a role model for other eager boys and girls to follow in his footsteps... perhaps he was thinking to far ahead.

The holo-mail of acceptance he had received also told him that there were five other recruits coming to form Team Alpha and he was quite curious and excited to meet them as well. What interesting powers would they possess? What wild stories could they tell? How did they each obtain their power? Portal realized that his own story was quite mundane in comparison to those of most heroes and that the true original of his power was yet obscure, so he got a slight sense of dread of the embarrassment to come when he may share his background.

Sighing, for no reason really, Portal walked over and up the elevator to the designated floor. Getting out, he looked around, it was really quite a nice place, though he was used to such finery. It wouldn't be bad staying here, if this was anything to tell by. It would be like a 4 and a half to 5 star hotel.

Thaila's stomach felt as if it had been twisted in knots, placed in a blender, and then had a swarm of butterflies released into it. She expected to explode at any second. That much anxiety could not be good for a person. She ran the same thought over and over again in her mind 'Move' but it just couldn't seem to happen. She had been staring at Titan's Tower from a distance for about an hour now. The entire time she had debated whether or not to go in or to go home. This was all so new to her, so alien. She had read the basic background files that the Justice League had holo-mailed, and it seemed that every other initiate had some kind of heroic background...but she was just Thaila. Thaila Finch. Book loving nerd. But something inside told her she was more. Maybe she wasn't just a book worm. Maybe she wasn't just another Finch. Maybe she was something to be noticed.

With a deep breath, Thaila began to walk towards the tower. Still feeling nervous, she summoned her Arcane Tome to her hands. Thaila always felt better when she was holding a book, especially that book. Reaching the automatic doors of the tower, Thaila paused once again. It was time. If she walked through those doors she could no longer be Thaila Finch, the quiet, book worm that sat at the back of the class. No, if she walked through those doors she would be Circe, the Sorceress. She was ready to be that person.

The doors opened with a hiss, and Thaila was met with a blast of cold air. Stepping inside, a holographic sign directed her towards an elevator. Hitting the button that would take her to the top floor, she waited. Classic elevator music dominated the small space, causing Thaila to shake her head. She would have to figure out how to change that. The elevator stopped and dinged, signaling that she had arrived at the top of the tower. It was too late to turn back now. She stepped out of the elevator. Circe had just arrived at Titan's Tower.

Everywhere Gray looked, he mostly only saw what would be known as red and green in the visible spectrum of light. He could technically see all the colors in the visible spectrum of light, but how see saw things were different. What he saw was similar to how an infrared camera/telescope/etc. sees. Details in people's faces were something that Gray never had the chance of seeing. Still he remained happy as he looked out the passenger window. His tail wagged with excitement as he looked out the black car. The car's destination was Titan Tower in the city it was in; Gray was to be placed in a team there.

"Now remember, don't fight anyone that's part of your pack." The man driving said.

"Sir." Gray said while he nodded. While being taught english Gray was meant to say 'Yes Sir' when agreeing with a statement or question or when he acknowledged an order given. Thing is that Gray only registered the word 'Sir' instead of the whole phrase. So now when instead of saying yes he says sir, but that's what you get when you try to teach a 19 year old english who has never heard any human language.

"You're suppose to say 'Yes sir' or 'okay' when you-" The man paused. "Forget it, let your pack continue teaching you english."

Within a few minutes they had arrived at Titan Tower. The man and Gray got off the car, but Gray came out on all fours. Gray never learned to walk upright, although he can stand straight up. He has been practicing, but having walked his whole life on all fours he prefers it that way.

"Here we are, you're new home." The smiled at Gray, who was paying no attention to him. Instead he was looking around, looking for anything entertaining. Gray wasn't just doing random stuff, he was also registering every smell he can make out. Like this he would be able to tell if anyone abnormal had been here. Gray then looked at the door and tilted his head.

"Enter?" Gray questioned.

"Yes you can go in. You pack is waiting at the XX floor." The man then opened the door to his car, but before getting in he told Gray something. "Try to make full sentences instead of one word responses."

"Sir" Gray said before going into the building. With that the man drove off. Gray, now inside, continued to register smells. He reached an elevator and pressed the button with the number XX on it. He knew how to work an elevator only because he spent so long in the Justice League base; he also learned numbers up to 99. With a ding the doors opened. Gray excitement was almost to the point of uncontrollable. He ran out the elevator(again on all fours) into the center of the room. There he looked around to see who was there. As soon as he spotted the other he went toward them and began smelling them. After smelling both the Titans that were there he remembered that he needed to behave like a human.

He stood up straight and with hi eyes only looked at his top right. He began to think about his english lesson. He could somewhat fully understand it, but talking was a different story. "Morning." He said remembering that could be used as a greeting, to bad it wasn't the time for that greeting. He put his hand on his bare chest. "Gray. Gray" he told the two.

Nami's heart was it was a flutter. She could'nt contain it inside of her. She swam around in the ocean babbaling to herself on and on about being accepted as a titan. Her mind rushed as she went through what she thought it would be like."I hope the others like me.What if they think I'm a freak? Will they think that it is creepy that my skin is green? Will they call me fish freak, salty slut, or seaweed brain? Its not my fault that I"m an Atlantean." She went on and on considering the possibilities. She couln't contain her strong and fear. Her strong green mermaid tail perpelled her through the ocean currents making her swim at a blinding speed.

She surfaced an hour before the titans were supposed to meet to get herself ready. She had ran to her secret cove and got out her nicest clothes. She put on her saphire crown and her tear shaped necklace. Her tail had formed into legs. Fins that grew out of her arms retracted into her skin. "This is it!" she said to herself. Nami had began strolling down the street when she heard it. "Its the fish freak." Nami knew why she prefered to stay under water. The surface dwellers could be so cruel.

Nami had made it through the utopian society all the while listining to insults being spat at her. She had made earmuffs out of water as an attempt to drown out the insults. She could still clearly read their lips. "Go away!" She thought to herself making her way down the street. It had seem like forever before she reached Titan Tower. When she had finnaly reached the door she placed her hand on it. She took a deep breath in and it opened. Nice cool air rushed out to meet her. She turned it into water and splashed herself with it. A holographic sign pointed he to an elevator. She pushed the button and waited for the elevator. "Huh, thats odd... someone must be in the elevator already." After waiting for what felt like an eternity, the elevator finally came down and opened its doors. Nami stepped in the door and pressed the button that would bring her to the appropriate floor. Nice elevator music played. She liked it. You don't hear much music when spending more than half your life underwater. When she finally reached her destination, she stepped off into the nice and large room. She already saw other titans. "They are all humans." She thought to herself. SHe took a seat and prayed for the best.

Kowen soared high above the ground, looking at the city from afar. Things looked so different from up here. Everyone looked so insignificant, so small. Sure there were people smarter than Kowen, stronger than Kowen, and as hard as it may be for him to believe more attractive than Kowen, but he didn't know a single person that was as free as him. Kowen let the thermals rising off the pavement in the city below to carry him higher, his wings stretching gracefully to catch the full force of the hot air. He rose higher and higher, until the warm air beneath his disappeared and he found himself in the clouds. This was his favorite place. It was so tranquil here, so boundless and without rule. Here anything went. Letting out a whoop of joy, Kowen gave his wings a large flap, sending him into an upward spiral and then beginning to fall back to Earth. He let gravity take its course, allowing it to draw him back to the ground below. Kowen angled his body, flying away from Janus City and across the waters of Lake Superior.

The cold spray from the lake hit Kowen, forcing him to close his eyes. He dipped lower and lower, until he could skim the water with his hands and then in a flourish of wind and water, he opened his wings, flapping strongly to gain altitude. A laugh of pure joy escaped his lips. Nothing was better than this.Looking back towards the city, Kowen could see it. Titans Tower.

It sat on an island off of in the lake, a bridge connecting it to the mainland. Focusing his eyes, he could make out someone walking into the tower. Looking up at the sun, Kowen realized time had gotten away from him. It was almost time. You should be more careful next time. The voice spoke in his mind. It was his partner, Jet. Of the two, Jet was definitely the more responsible. All about schedules and rules. Lighten up, don't be such kill-joy. Gliding towards the tower, Kowen circled the large building a few times, before landing at the tower's entrance. Upon landing, a bright aura surrounded Kowen and when it faded he was no longer the half-man/half-bird he had been. The wings had disappeared, the talons retracted, the eyes reverting back to normal. Now he was just Kowen. No longer the superhero Mach Force. On his shoulder sat a regal looking hawk, surveying the area.

Well what are you waiting for, go in. Jet said grumpily. Nodding, Kowen stepped towards the door. Entering the tower he went into the elevator and waited. Gah! Elevators were so cramped and slow. Flying was much more efficient. Tapping his foot impatiently, Kowen waited...and waited...and waited. After what seemed like forever, the elevator dinged and Kowen hurried out of it. Stepping into the top most room of the tower, Kowen looked around. As he suspected he was not the first to arrive. Four others had beat him to the punch. Sitting on the couch was a guy, just relaxing, looking totally at ease. Sitting in the middle of the room, on the floor, was another boy. This one shirtless and every few seconds, Kowen would see a flash of gray behind him. Kowen quickly realized this to be a tail. Raising his eyebrow, Kowen just shrugged. The other two were female, one stood in the corner, a book clenched to her chest as she tried her best to unnoticed and the other was a bit more interesting. The first thing Kowen noticed was that she was green. Not like, sick, 'I'm going to throw up green', but like the color of kelp and nature. Woah. Kowen thought to himself. She's an Atlantean you dolt. Jet whispered in his mind. Sweet!

Walking into the room, Kowen cleared his throat. "What goes on? I am Kowen!"

GM Post: Titans Alpha

Most of the Titans had arrived, Long Shadow noted. He had been watching the entire time, hiding in his own shadow. The diversity amongst the team was both impressive and worrying. He had seen fights break out between members of different species, solely because they were different. Getting them to work as a team may prove difficult, but perhaps he was underestimating them. Maybe they were mature enough to rise above it.

Going through the list in his mind, he counted the names. One. "Portal". Two. "Circe". Three. Gray. Four. Nami. Five. "Mach Force". It seemed they were missing one, but he was tired of waiting. He would just have to catch this, Long Shadow searched his mind for the name, "Mimic" up to speed when he showed. As the thought entered his mind, his previous worries were aroused. Not much had been in the file about "Mimic", just simply a name. No report. No statistics. Nothing. It worried Long Shadow. Why would the higher ups of the Justice League keep that from him? Nevertheless, he had to trust them.

Deciding that enough time had passed, Long Shadow materialized in the corner of the room, still hidden by the shadows. "Well it seems must of us are here." He proclaimed. His sudden appearance and exclamation made a few of the new Titans jump. They turned to him. Unsurprisingly, a few of them were on edge, wondering if he was an enemy. "My name is Long Shadow. I am one of your Justice League supervisors." He watched each members face, as they relaxed slightly, learning that he was not a threat.

"I am sure I don't have to tell you why you are here, but protocol is a stern mistress. You each have been inducted into the Teen Titans Initiative. Each one of you have proven that you deserve a shot to become a hero, and here is that chance. You are a team, you must work as one. I expect each and every one of you to be mature, and considerate individuals. A further point, there will be no inappropriate relations between teammates." Long Shadow let that last statement sink in, eyeing each member of the team, perhaps putting a bit more emphasis for the males in the room. He had been a teenager once, and knew the trouble that could arise.

"Now, a further briefing will be conducted at a later time. For now, please go check out your rooms. Boys on the right, girls on the left." Long Shadow gestured to the two hallways that branched off from the main living quarters. When you have finished, please return here."

[spoiler=OOC]

Alright, most of the team has assembled, you have seen each other and now know what you are getting into. Your rooms have been furnished to your specifications and any items from home you may have wanted to bring are waiting for you. Go check out your room and the come back to the main room.

Master Mimic, what is the matter?

A young man wearing luxury dress clothing (White Dress shirt with red tie and black jacket, black dress pants and shined black leather dress shoes) was at Janus City's main dock, listening to an electronic butler-like British voice in his head. It appears by the present time that we are late. Is something troubling you? Considering your facial expression and slightly raised heart rate, you appear tense. It's not that I'm tense, P.R.A.I.S.E. thought Mimic, as he knows that this voice, called P.R.A.I.S.E., can read and understand his thoughts clearly without much trouble. It's just that because of how big of a responsibility this is, I just like to have a moment of silence before I take this big step. Of course. My apologies sir. I will give you time to yourself. Thank you.

As the next 2 minutes pass by, Mimic begins to look back at all of his past experiences. But soon enough, a nightmare of an image appeared in his head. A large inferno-like explosion, along with a scream that could shatter a window. When he came to, he thought, Okay, I'm ready. Sir, your mind is linked with my CPU, you can't hide any memories you see from me. Who said I was? I just wish I could have had the strength to do something about what happened back then. Well, what is done cannot be changed. I know, and I'm glad you would be willing to erase that memory if given the safest opportunity.

Going up to the booth that he waited for to be open, the man there chuckled at Mimic's appearance, but said nothing about it. "I'd like to rent a speedboat please." said Mimic as he takes outba credit card. The man in the booth then pointed towards another man behind Mimic. He put the credit card away and walked up to the man. "Excuse me, I'd like to rent a speedboat that is affordable but can get me where I need to go at a decent speed." The man clasped his hands together. "I think I have just what you're looking for." said the man. "Lead the way." Mimic followed the man to a medium sized white speed boat. "It's basic, I know, but it does its job well. What do you say?"

Mimic thought about it for a moment. "I'll take it." said Mimic. The man clasped his hands once again in awe. "Perfect, now here's the number that you give the man in the booth. And be sure to know how long you intend on paying for it " Mimic shook the man's hand as he took a slip of paper containing the serial number for the boat. "Thank you." He then went back to the man in the Booth and handed him the slip of paper. The man entered the number into the register and asked, "So how long do you wish to pay for the boat?" "4 months at most." 10 minutes later, Mimic got in the boat and headed for Titans Tower.

Another 10 minutes have passed, and Mimic arrived at Titans Tower with much anticipation. He went inside towards the elevator and pressed a specific button to reach the required floor. When he got off the elevator, he noticed 5 people in front of him, one of which appeared to be this 'Long Shadow' that would be supervising him and his fellow Titans-to-be, while another appeared to have made Mimic curious. Her skin was green, similar to that of kelp underwater. But he also noticed a girl in the corner trying her best to be unnoticed. If he was going to be an asset, Mimic would need to get along with everybody here. "Apologies for being late." he said to everybody. "I hope I didn't miss anything." He then chuckled and looked at the girl with the book again, sympathy in his eyes with an experience that he relates to every day.

Long Shadow stared at this young Mimic. He seemed nice enough, fairly well groomed and there was a sense of intelligence about him. Long Shadow couldn't make up his mind whether or to take a liking or disliking to the late comer. Punctuality was important, but he could understand the strain of becoming a hero. Perhaps this one already understood the responsibilities he was about to take on. Best not to judge him just yet, although he would be keeping a watchful eye on him.

"Better late than never, I guess." Long Shadow said, addressing Mimic. You haven't missed too much, why don't you go check out your room and then we can really get down to business."

[hr]

Kallen rolled his eyes as Long Shadow listed the rolls. Hearing that he was dismissed to check out his room was all Kallen needed. He took off, brushing past the other Titans and made directly for the right hallway. He heard the ding of the elevator just in time and was able to sidestep the late comer, before barreling straight into him. "Sorry, bro." Kallen said, patting the guy on the shoulder. With that he continued down the hallway.  Interesting. Jet whispered in his mind. WhatKallen asked.

Well, on an important day like this, you would think you would be on time such an important event such as this. I am getting a bad feeling about this guyKallen thought about it as he past a few doors. Each one had a name of a different Titan on it. Nope. Nope. Ah, there it was. "Mach Force"  Placing his hand on the scanner next to the door, it opened with a hiss. Stepping into the room, Kallen let out a "Sweet!" The room was amazing. The walls were painted like a sunset over the desert, giving the room a tranquil feel to it. There wasn't much furniture, but Kallen preferred it that way, more room for himself. On the left side of the room was a loft bed with a steel frame and beneath it was a desk with a pretty sick looking computer on it. Against the right wall was a dresser and book case, but it didn't hold books. On it were a few of the trinkets Kallen had collected over the years. A geode. An arrowhead. And countless other things. Sitting alone on a shelf was a picture of his parents. Looking at it made him feel a tornado of emotions, anger, guilt, longing. It was too confusing. Shaking his head, Kallen turned his attention to the last part of his room.

The last wall was a gigantic window that gave him fantastic view of the waters of Lake Superior and the city in the distance. There was a glass door on the wall that led to a balcony. Walking out onto it, Kallen was hit with a wave of fresh air. He breathed it in happily. It was perfect. Kallen were you even listening to me? Kallen was snapped out of his state of wonder. He had been too distracted by this amazing room to give what Jet said much thought. Yeah, yeah, let me think. Kallen pondered the idea for awhile. Jet was right, even Kallen himself hadn't been late, although just barely making it on time. Maybe he just got lost or something. Kallen replied.

Lost? You can see the tower for miles in any direction. I don't think so. Well not everyone has wings, Jet. I am sure it's nothing. Trust me Kallen, we animals have a sense for this kind of thing.

Thaila stood awkwardly in the corner. The other Titans seemed so confident, so sure of themselves. The thought of being able to just walk in and introduce yourself made Thaila shiver, she clutched her spellbook tight. She took a deep breath. She had come here to make something of herself, she couldn't just sit back and be Thaila Finch, she had stand up and be Circe. She turned her attention to the boy that had introduced himself as Gray. There was something intriguing about him, but also slightly off-putting. Of course the fact that he was shirtless made Thaila all the more uncomfortable, but that wasn't it either. That's when she noticed the tail. She almost screamed at the sight of it, but swallowed the yelp that had risen in her throat. Drawing attention towards it, and definitely screaming in fright, would be considered rude.

Stepping out of the comfort of her corner, she moved to address Gray, but before she could say anything she noticed a movement in a corner opposite hers. A man had materialized out of nowhere. Her eyes grew wide in panic. She flipped open her spellbook and it began to glow slightly. Thaila had experienced things like this only a few times, but she had found that people with superpowers that sneak up like this weren't usually good news. But before she could cast a spell, the man introduced himself, and Thaila quickly relaxed. Too think, she had been about to blast their supervisor right out of the tower. That probably wouldn't have been good for her reputation. She closed her book and listened to him talk. Once he finished, she returned her attention to Gray, but right as she had mustered her courage again she was interrupted. It would seem that they had a late comer. Walking in, she noticed that he was kinda cute. Going through the names in her head, she realized that this one was probably the mysterious Mimic. The short files that she had read on each of her new teammates hadn't contained much information, but the information on this Mimic had been extremely scarce. But, she wasn't one to judge, she had kept a secret from her family for the longest time. It wasn't her place to go snooping.

Once things settled down again, she made her third attempt to talk to Gray. "Hi Gray, my name is Th...I mean Circe. Nice to meet you." She held out her shaking hand, wondering too late if a handshake would be too formal.

The rest of the titans began to arrive, still on time though. Gray, like previously, went and sniffed the newcomers. When he went and smelled Nami Gray instantly shouted out "Fish!Fish" He was told that not all the titans were human, but he had never met an atlantean. Still since he was told he decided to pay little attention to it for now. Before the final titan showed up a man appeared from the corner of the room. Once the man was fully out of the shadow Gray began to growl at him. His hearing aloud him to hear Long Shadow. The only reason Gray didn't attack was because Long Shadow quickly introduced himself.

Gray was about to go to his room when the final titan showed up. Like the others, gray walked up to him and began to sniff him. He quickly began walking away after taking a wiff of the late titan. Before he could leave to his room Thaila walked up to him. She looked nervous, but Gray was oblivious to this. When she stuck out her hand and introduced herself Gray was puzzled. He could not remember what sticking out your hand meant. So Gray decided to follow his instincts; he got Thaila's hand and put it close to his face. He then stuck out his tongue and licked the back her hand. He followed by releasing her hand and looking at her in the eyes. "Gray" he said pointing at himself. "Circe." he said pointing at her. "Gray." he once again said poiting at himself, making sure that she caught his name. His tail was wildly wagging all over the place, a person was actually talking to him. A smile also spread from cheek to cheek, excitement was written all over him.

Mimic was glad that Long Shadow wasn't mad at him, at least for the most part. P.R.A.I.S.E. had read his facial expressions and he seemed to be conflicted. Possibly due to the fact that his file was mostly empty. He had his reasons for it. He didn't really explain much. Granted, he should have mentioned what his job was here. In fact, better now than never. "I actually wanted to talk to you about something if you don't mind." He began as he walked up to Long Shadow. "I know that there might be a problem with my file considering that it has very little to go on.

My job is meant to be here. In other words, my skills are thanks to my assistant P.R.A.I.S.E., who of which I can connect to the mainframe of this tower. He's able to help find more crime activity that all of the sensors might not pick up. He can also link himself up to any form of communication devices you give us and use the GPS devices t determine your locations. Basically, I will be their eyes and ears to ensure a higher success rate with missions." He took a deep breath. "Now that you are aware of what I'm supposed to do, I'll check out my room." Mimic then proceeded to walk to the room.

He then stopped in his tracks. "Oh, one more thing." He began again. "This suit was for introductory and impressionable purposes. I'm not this clean normally. I'm more in the common attire, so expect my appearance to change the next day." Mimic then walked up to Gray. "Um, I believe you forgot how to shake hands. You're not supposed to lick the hand extended out towards you. Hope that helps."

He then proceeded to head to his room. However, all that was seen inside was a single USB Port beside the door. "Perfect." He then revealed a metallic wristband with 2 USB plugs, both different. One was collapsible, another was wireless and removable. The door then hissed behind him, closing before the changing of the room began.

Portal had dozed off a bit, he got lost in his daydreams while he was waiting and he woke up with a start, partially because of the loud, sudden entrance of the tanned, tattooed kid, and partially because he found that everyone already arrived. Well, there goes my plan of greeting them as they came, he thought. Nevertheless, he stood up with purpose, it was time for some greetings and for the making of new friends, but he froze as he detected movement in the corner of his eye. There was a ripple in the corner of the room, not the corner where the bookworm was cringing in, another corner, and he was sure no one was over there a moment ago.

A small, startled cry had escaped Portal's lips as Long Shadow appeared out of nowhere, however, he recovered and clenched his fists, ready to rumble, but was very glad to find that the newcomer was a superhero, not a supervillain, and one of their supervisors. The superhero addressed them in an official-sounding tone and Portal somewhat more significant. The Teen Titans Initiative, well, if that didn’t sound fancy, but the important-sounding-ness was diminished as Long Shadow addressed the imminent issue of possibly illicit relationships that would arise with males and females sleeping in a dorm on the same floor of the same building and as he more or less herded, well Portal felt a bit like he was being herded, towards their respective quarters.

Following the others out of the room, he walked to a door a bit down from the room they were just in, the one with his moniker on it, and he placed his hand on the scanner. The door opened and he walked in. It was a rather simple room and Portal felt somewhat disappointed. Of course, he had grown up in a privileged environment and this was a bit below his typical standards. Of course, I’m just a recruit, I’m not important enough to warrant anything better than this, I suppose I should be grateful that I even get this, he thought. He walked over and plugged his personalization USB into the port by the door. The walls transformed to displayed a mono-color painting of a busy city nightlife scene. All the lights and shades were tinted aquamarine, giving the room a slightly chill, cyberpunk mood. The lamp on the ceiling transformed into a strange disco-ball-like light and a poster, displaying all of his favorite superheroes in action, showed up across from the bed, allowing Portal to look at when he lay on his bed. There was still something missing from his room. He walked over to the bedside table and removed the lamp. How old-fashioned, he thought and he placed his portable stereo on the table. It seemed a compact device at first, just a box, but it automatically unfolded, transforming into a full-sized sound system. Well, that’s all I can do, he thought. It would’ve been childish to bring anything else like action figures.

Marching back to the first room, he came upon the bookworm and... the wolfman... They certainly seemed interesting and Portal looked back and forth between them. The guy’s hairstyle seemed straight out of anime and the girl’s book which she was clutching so tightly seemed like a spellbook of sorts... maybe she was a wizard... What was the female equivalent of wizard, again?

“Hey, guys! How’s it going?” he said, appearing as cool as possible, hands tucked in his jean pockets, walking with a very slight slouch. “My name is Portal.” He added a grave-sounding inflection as he spoke his nickname.

Kowen, finished marveling at his room, returned to the main living area and was met with the sight of three of the other Titans. "Sup, guys? Name's Mach Force, but just go ahead and call me Kowen. Did I catch your name was Portal? And you're Gray. And you're???" Kowen looked to the girl that clutched her book so tightly her knuckles were turning white. He noticed that she was shaking so much and that the air around her wreaked of nervousness. Before he could take in any more, he felt a deep pain in his shoulder. Looking up at Jet, he realized he had forgot to introduce the proud bird of prey. "Oh and this is Jet." Jet flourished his wings, and taking a bow of sorts. "So...what can you guys do?" Kowen asked awkwardly, he knew that it probably wasn't the most polite thing to ask, but he honestly didn't care too much.

If Thaila had thought it was weird to see a tail on a shirtless boy...well then she was downright freaked out when that boy licked her hand. She didn't even have time to react, just stare. Thaia would have totally gone 'freak out mode' had the boy not seemed so innocent. In all truth, he seemed to be confused, yet happy. Thaila thought back to when her family had taken in a stray puppy when she was seven. This boy reminded her of that puppy, kind, innocent, funny, playful, and yet troubled. "Right..." Thaila said, wiping her hand on her pants to get rid of some of the saliva. "Nice to meet you." Before they could get any farther in the conversation, another Titan walked in. The self introduced Portal.

"M-m-my name is Circe." Thaila said, her voice cracking slightly. "I'm going to go check out my room, I'll see you guys in a sec." Thaila scurried off, bumping into Kowen, or rather Mach Force, apologizing she ran to her room. Once the door shut, she let out a tired sigh. Who knew that being social was so hard. Hopefully, it would get easier. Looking up from the floor, Thaila's breath was taken away by her room. She was the middle child in a large family, and had never seen much in the way of luxury, and because of that what was before her was just amazing. A circular bed, covered in a comforter the color of her eyes, sat in the center of the room, it seemed to slowly rotate. On the inner 2 walls, 2 large book cases covered the entire area. There were hundreds of books, more books than Circe had seen before at one time. It was perfection.

The last wall was a giant window with violet curtains that could be drawn over them. Sitting on her bed was a remote-like object. Pressing one of the buttons a holographic screen popped up in front of the window. She moved forward to touch and was surprised to find it felt like a keyboard. Grabbing it, she found she could move it to anywhere she want. She made a note to look into it more later.

Thaila jumped on her bed, ready to relax for just a sec and squealed with delight to find that it was a waterbed. Everything was perfect.

P.R.A.I.S.E.'s simulation software had finished installing and was ready to use. Receiving room skeleton file... said P.R.A.I.S.E. as the room started to come into existence. What appeared was amazing. He had a luxury king-sized bed, a large computer that appeared to have P.R.A.I.S.E.'s software installed by default, two large drawers full of clothing and other necessary supplies, such as toiletries. The walls appeared to have light blue neon lining over black paint, giving it a robotic and cybernetic feel, showing that P.R.A.I.S.E. is in control. Mimic sighed that nothing was misplaced in the file. It was a relief. If I had emotions, sir, I would honestly agree with you 100 percent. Mimic chuckled, knowing he didn't have to say anything that would further have P.R.A.I.S.E.  agree with his reason any further. He then looked at the USB port beside the door. It looked bulky, but only because his cybernetic cuff link was detachable and had a compact mode. The wireless USB would be used for the main computer in the lobby of Titans Tower, if given the permission to use it.

He then walked out of his room and noticed Circe run into hers. He knew what that used to feel like. He used to act that same way, and now it still is somewhat difficult because he has yet to master social activity once more, especially after what happened on "That Day". However, he didn't want to be reminded of it. Too late. He ended up hearing that scream once more. It gave him a slight headache just thinking about it. If only he could forget it. But nothing could be done about it, so he has to live with it each day. Pushing through the tough memories, he walked up to Circe's door. He took a deep breath and proceeded to knock on the door. He knew she might hesitate with opening the door. But making friends is always the first step to something good. He could wait for a while for Circe, because he can just tell that her heart could easily be racing with each step she takes to open the door slightly. "Circe?" asked Mimic through the door. "I want to talk to you, if that's okay."

Having just laid and closed her eyes for a second, Thaila heard the knock at her door. Instantly she was on edge again. She grabbed her Arcane Tome, which had fallen right beside her on the bed, and looked at the door. Was it that other girl? The atlantean. Thaila had nothing against other species, in fact they fascinated her, but she had never talked to one before. Do they have special protocol? Is there some etiquette she wasn't aware of? The ideas whirled through her mind. She concluded on the fact that if she opened the door and it was the atlantean, that she would end up starting a war between humans and atlanteans. It was probably better to just sit here. That's when she heard the voice. It was the voice of the kid that had arrived late. Mimic. The cute one. For some reason, this made her more nervous than the potential war between species...but perhaps a bit more manageable. Taking a deep breath, she walked to the door.

Thaila opened the door and was met with the sight of Mimic. She opened her mouth to let out a sigh, but quickly caught herself. That would've been embarrassing. "H-h-hi." Thaila said, her eyes downcast, warmth spreading to her cheeks.

Mimic chuckled. "Hey, it's alright." he began to Circe. "I can tell you're nervous. Trust me. I've been there. I've had to deal with it for 3 years." He attempted to touch her, but he changed his mind. "You don't have to be nervous towards me. I'm the kind of guy you can go to for anything. If you want to do something and you're clueless on how to go about it without messing up, I'm the guy to go to. I wanna help you make friends with everyone else. But, to start it off, I'd like to get to know you more. You don't have to tell me anything right now. Unless, you want to tell me something." Mimic then waited for a response. And given the way her cheeks got so red, he can tell that it'll take some convincing to get her to open up. Even then, as long as he gets to know her, maybe he won't have to do things alone.

Suddenly, he felt that same vision hit him again. A man in a lab coat, whose face is blanketed in darkness was witnessing an earthquake. Then, a giant tube of some form liquid had crashed onto the ground, igniting almost immediately due to the amount of oxygen in the room. The flames engulfed the man, and Mimic could hear that same agonizing scream of terror that chilled his body to the bone. Mimic held his head as the memory was searing into his brain. It was starting to hurt, and for some reason, it seemed to have been trying to restrict any kind of open-endedness with other people, like a voice telling him, "You're no good. You can't make friends. When they find out who you are entirely, they'll reject you."

He the remembered Circe was right in front of her, and most likely she was scared. "Sorry, I'm just starting to get a migraine. I'll be fine though. We can talk again when I'm better. Is that okay? I'll see you in the main hall later. Again, sorry." He then walked away to his room, the door closing behind him. P.R.A.I.S.E., a little help please? he thought, speaking to his AI. Of course, Master Mimic. said P.R.A.I.S.E. A bunch of beeping sounds were heard from the computer beside Mimic, and the memory had been shut down temporarily. How do you feel? Mimic felt relieved, but his head was still hurting. I feel better. Now for the headache to go away. Mimic then laid down on his bed to relax. The headache will pass, that's for sure, and he'll have a chance to talk with Circe.

Nami had snuck out of the room after Long Shadow finished his speech. She wasn't quite ready to face the humans quite yet. Walking down the girl's hallway she found her room and quickly entered. She was met with a sight that made her both smile and frown. The room really was quite amazing. In one corner there was a small, circular pool. Walking over to it she dipped her hand into it and brought it up to her mouth. The water was salty, just like home. The room was painted a beautiful, teal color, the same color as home. Orbs of water hung in the air, species of underwater plants in them. They gave off a magical glow, casting blue light all around the room. It was perfect. Too perfect. It was exactly like home, and just another reminder that she didn't fit in. But, it also cured the small worm of homesickness that was already burrowing through her. Maybe it wasn't so bad.

Gray wanted to try and keep talking to the titans that introduced themselves, but he had just remembered the order that he was given by his superior. He was to go see his room and make sure he liked it. So when Circe left Gray followed. He took a different path after a while, since the boys room was separated from the girls room. He found his room only because it showed a silhouette of a wolf on the door. This was unlike the other titans that had their names written on them. Gray was the exception because he still could not read english. He put his hand on the scanner and entered the room.

Once inside his already wagging tail started wagging at a faster rate. The walls were painted with a forest scenery, with a full moon on the ceiling. There wasn't much in the room itself. There was about 10 life size wolf plush dolls scattered all over the room, each wolf was in a different position. There was also a switch on the wall, which of course controlled the lights, and a neatly folded blanket at the corner of the room. This didn't seem like much, but for Gray it was far more than enough.

After seeing his room Gray walked back to main room, where most of the titans were. There he stayed silent as he watch the other converse. He wanted to see how it was done.

GM Post: Cyber Drones

Long Shadow watched from the shadows as the Titans slowly came back to the main room. It would appear that they more or less found their rooms to their liking and they seemed to be getting along...or at least they hadn't started brawling yet, which Long Shadow took as a good sign. Just as Long Shadow was about to address those that had come back, a blaring alarm blasted through the tower, flashing red lights casting their glow around the room. Long Shadow let out a sigh. He should be used to this by now. Crime tends to strike at the most inopportune times. The rest of the Titans had run into the main room as soon as the alarm had gone off. Long Shadow noted their quick reactions. "Alright Titans. Earlier that expected, but it would appear your first mission is here." Turning, a large screen appeared in front of the team, filling them in on all the data. "There you go. Get to it!"

A few minutes later the Titans were at the scene. From the data that they had gone over before they left, it would appear that some psychopath was attacking Janus City. He and his swarm of 'Cyber Drones.' As the Titans neared the scene they could see it. A man garbed in large white cloak walked down the center of the street. Attached to his head was a metallic, crown-like object. All around him was what looked like over sized, mechanical bees. A few of them terrorized the running citizens and destroyed property. It was their time. The Titans' first challenge was in front of them.

[spoiler=OOC]

Alright guys, battle time. This first opponent isn't too hard. He is just 1 of our faceless villains that attack Janus City. He has no superpowers but the crown he wears allows him to control his mechanical warriors, which happen to be bee-like drones this time. These drones aren't too tough, but take a little effort. They are quite durable and able to shoot lasers as well as have a variety of sharp appendages. This part of the battle will be saving citizens/destroying drones. Remember, the Titans are not used to working as a team and thus there will not be much team work going on here. In fact, if you guys could get in each others way a bit, that would be great, lol. Well, have at it.

Nami ran out of her room when she heard the alarm. "Whats that?" SHe asked Long Shadow. He gave the whole team the rundown. Nami nodded. She ran out the window and dove into the lake below. Her legs transformed into a straon tail. She shot herself through the lake like a current. Once she neared land she jumped out. The other titans were just arriving at the edge of the lake.

Once Nami was there, she gasped. A crazy man was in the center of the city. Around him were these stupid looking robots. Nami sized him up. Those midgit robot-thingy's look like they are attacking the city. I bet he is controling them somehow. Okay. Nami smirked. Those robots would short fuse if any water touched them. Nami looked over to Gray and Portal. She chaneled the air into water. "Ebb and Flow!" She said. The water targeted the man, but the waters natural course was to hit what ever is near then bounce off. As a result, the hit Gray and Portal first. It didn't harm them. It only soaked them seeing as it had nothing to heal. It finally began flying twords the crazy man, hitting as much drones as possible on the way.

Gray was startled by the sudden alarm. He was so surprised that he jumped up and gave a puppy-like cry. He was not expecting anything exiting to happen for a few days. When the screen lit up with all the information Gray was confused as to what it said. He still was not able to read well, if one would compare his reading level to that of a normal persons he would be at a kindergarten reading level. He fully understood what was going on when someone explained it to him on the way to the site.

Once there he saw all the robot bees, along with one man with a crown. He seemed to be causing the trouble, so he was the enemy. Gray began to growl and show his canines. When he was about to go strike he was splashed with water. He looked over to Nami and gave her the same stare, along with the growl, as he gave he man. He then looked back to see many of the robots getting splashed. He decided to go after the other ones. He began to try to destroy them by clawing them with his claws, but without flight it was difficult. He continued to jump and slash trying to hit one, but he couldn't get a hit. That was until one of the drones attacked him, which allowed Gray to be close enough to slash the drone in half.

He began to wildly attack, getting in the way of his team mates. Like before he wasn't destroying many of them.

Kowen flew high above the city below, circling the man that was controlling the bees. As soon as the Titans had received their mission he had dashed to his room and jumped out the large window, merging with Jet. Now the two soared above, watching their teammates engage the enemy. Shouldn't we help them? Jet asked. "We will. Just gotta wait for the perfect entrance." Kowen said aloud. Continuing to circle, Kowen saw his chance. One of the drones had snuck up on Gray, as he scratched away at the hard, metallic shell of another drone. Angling downwards, Kowen began to dive. He was just a blur when he slammed into the metal insect, punching straight through it. "Falcon Punch." Kowen muttered amusingly under his breath. You are such a child. Jet said. Kowen ignored him. "Alright, guys. Mach Force is here, you can take a break." The cockiness was very evident in his voice. He once again took to the skies, but this time at a much lower altitude. He began to strike at the drones, weaving between their laser blasts. With the ability of flight, Kowen was beginning to make a significant dent in their numbers, but it seemed they just kept coming.

Oh, how dandy. A minute hadn't even passed and the alarm sounded off. Mimic acted accordingly, though, regardless of his headache, and ran for the main hall. He listened to what Long Shadow had to say, and reacted as such. He sat at the giant computer and searched for a USB Port. When he found it, he smiled. "Alright, P.R.A.I.S.E., do your work!" Mimic said. My pleasure sir. said P.R.A.I.S.E. as he downloaded his software into the computer's mainframe. Searching for the Titans using the mapping of Janus City, he checked the location in which the crime was taken place. Searching for security viewing... A bunch of beeps and buzzing was heard from the computer as P.R.A.I.S.E. attempted to find a security camera that would give a good view on the situation. When Mimic found a camera with a good view and angle, he sighed in relief and proceeded to press the intercom button connected to their-

Mimic hung his head in shame. He should have let Long Shadow know about giving everybody a communicator, himself included if things ever got too serious. "Damn, I knew I forgot something." Without their communicators, there's no way to contact them. Then, Mimic thought of something. "Or is there?" Are you sure that it will work sir? "This isn't as illogical as you see it. Just watch and you'll see its effectiveness." Mimic then pressed a few buttons, P.R.A.I.S.E. began to hack any untouched technology such as TVs, speakers, etc. around the area in which the Titans were fighting in, and was able to have access to showing the Titans what he sees, and giving the Titans a chance to hear him, at least until the psychopath destroys what's left, and then he'll just have to watch and see what happens. Granted, getting through to them might be harder than he believes.

He then pressed the intercom button and was able to speak through the speakers. "Hey, guys, it's Mimic." he began. "You got to work as a team here. If you don't take advantage of what each of your teammates do, then you're all gonna let the psycho get away! So, get to it!" He then released the intercom and waited for them to react accordingly. "Now, we wait until someone makes a mistake." Or, make a strategy for them? suggested P.R.A.I.S.E. "Hm, that's not bad, but I have to see what they're all capable of." By all means, Master Mimic. Hoping that the Titans got the message, he waited patiently for his words to get through to them, whether it be a little or a lot. It didn't matter to him, as long as he was making progress on building the team's relaiability of one another so that things don't seem as difficult as what he's seeing with his fellow Titans. "Come on, guys, let's see what you can do with each other."
