byak
2 Level 7 monstersYou can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card; Special Summon as many "Battle Eagle Tokens" (Machine-Type/WIND/Level 6/ATK 2000/DEF 0) as possible. They are destroyed at the end of this turn, also your opponent takes no battle damage for the rest of this turn. The card might seem quite bad at first, but now that we have a deck that can churn out Rank 7 Xyzs whenever it wants, it's worth looking into.Elemental Dragons can summon this on a whim without using their normal summon, meaning they have easy access to a maximum of four Level 6 Machine-type tokens. Now what can these tokens do? You might have seen this before, but if you open Tomahawk and Shinkuro, you can end with Tomahawk, 3 Bureidos, and a Strategist with three draws from your Bureidos. You also can then overlay them for Giantrainer to inflict additional burn damage (since you cannot inflict battle damage this turn) and gain more card advantage. If you choose to take the Karakuri route, playing Saizan allows you to easily make Starform Dragon. This is done by making Dragossack, using a token with Saizan to make Burei and another Saizan which then becomes Starform. Alternatively any Elemental Dragon + Saizan accomplishes this as well.Taking this route also gives you access to very powerful Synchros such as Stardust Dragon and Crimson Blader. Crimson Blader is very important as it can win you the Elemental Dragon mirror match by itself. However, Tomahawk doesn't only support Synchro Summons, it also supports Tribute Summons as well.Remember how Dragossack allowed you to drop LaDD turn 1 very easily? Tomahawk takes this a step further and allows you to drop any monster that requires three tributes on turn 1. Slifer and Obelisk are probably the first things that come to mind when you think of three tribute monsters. Sure they are both very powerful cards, as Obelisk is tough to kill and Slifer can shut down certain decks.Obelisk seems to have a good matchup vs Elemental Dragons and Mermails. Their only outs to Obelisk are Catastor, Black Rose, and Lucky Stripe in addition to staples that they might play. If they can't answer it fast enough though Obelisk can deal enough damage to end the game, combined with all of your other Rank 7s.Slifer seems very easy to maintain in Elemental Dragons, seeing as you can easily pick up hand advantage through monster effects or Super Rejuvenation. Its ATK reducing effect also seems effective vs decks like Evilswarm, Mermail, and Fire Fist, which all rely on weak monsters to build their boards. While both of these god cards are powerful, they can be very ineffective vs some decks. Obelisk autoloses to Spellbook of Fate, as it doesn't target. High Priestess can also run over Obelisk if given enough power through Power, Master, and Star Hall. Slifer is also weak to Spellbooks, and can be dangerous in the Elemental Dragon mirror match due to Big Eye.While I was thinking of countering Spellbooks, I was looking up all of the three tribute monsters and I found one which seems extremely effective vs them, and most decks in general. You might not take me seriously at first, but give this card another read. When it hits the field, your opponent cannot use Spells or Traps for the next two turns. This effect was always amazing, it's just that there was never a practical way to summon this. But now there is.Not only does this card give Spellbooks an extremely hard time in the early game, it also acts as a very weird Trap Stun, since its effect remains active even after it leaves the field. The idea is that you drop this, then during their next turn (when their Spells and Traps are still stunned) you can drop everything regardless of what backrow they have and potentially kill them. Obviously this is less effective vs Elemental Dragons and Mermail, but this card is still extremely dangerous and can even shut down necessary cards in those matchups, like Gold Sarco and Abyss-Sphere.It also shouldn't be forgotten that this card is hard to get rid of in the first place, depending on the matchup. In order to effectively handle this card, you need to get rid of it through monster effects. While that's easy to do in Mermail and Elemental Dragon, Fire Fists, Evilswarm, and Spellbooks need to go out of their way to kill this thing. And if it sticks, it becomes heavy damage, since it'll copy your strongest monster you currently have. If you manage to drop Obelisk next turn, you'll have at least 8100 damage to kill them.Other neat three drops to look at are Barbaros and Wicked Eraser, but they aren't as good.Thoughts? Sora1499
I've seen the Tomohawk Karakuri build and it's actually pretty crazy. Seeing the god cards playing a part in the meta is an awesome prospect, and seems quite fun. Maybe I'll give it a shot.

The curious thing would be if you see this sided or mained. I imagine you could get away with both, except for Slifer for the reasons stated above. Toffee.
The only real issue with said 3 Tribute boss monsters, is they aren't exactly searchable.Other then that, playing Avatar seems absolutely hilarious, and quite good.
Bringerofcake
The more I hear about elemental dragons and the inherent brokenness of them and their concept, I keep seeing more deck diversity in the form of techs. This makes me all the more mad simply because I originally despised EDs for the very reason that they contributed to the polarization of the meta (mostly by making Tier 0 tier 1, and bumping everything else down a tier). As for the combos themselves, we've actually seen seen something like this before with Dandy and glow up. Obviously nothing on this scale, and on this scale it's rather absurd, but still, something like this has happened before.
Superdoopertrooper
This card is also used in Divine Wind FTK. The card is balanced though, there's nothing unfair about it.
newhat
Divine Wind FTK is a thing because of Blaze Fenix; don't blame this sucker. It's not at all hard to get 2 Level 7 monsters out, but Dragossack is more aggressive if you only need 2 Tributes or if you have extra Saizan. 玄魔の王
I personally think the Wicked Avatar has more potential than the god cards If you wanna get technical, Avatar IS a God Card. This card is also used in Divine Wind FTK. The card is balanced though, there's nothing unfair about it. And that's exactly what I'll say. If a card lets you do a bunch of things in tandem with other stuff, the liability is split among all the "stuff", not a single one. Tomahawk by itself is not broken. evilfusion
Pretty sure the topic title isn't saying Number 42 is broken. Just that it has a LOT more potential than people originally gave it. Also, E-Dragons break all the Rank 7s.

Also, E-Dragons break all the Rank 7s. It's E-Dragons themselves that are broken. The only way to prevent them extending that to Rank 7s is to make them all require specific materials, which hinders them unnecessarily.
EmpoleMew
Divine Wind FTK is a thing because of Blaze Fenix; don't blame this sucker. It wouldn't be possible without Tomahawk
Sora1499
It wouldn't be possible without Tomahawk It wouldn't be possible without Ancient Fairy Dragon. :T Blaze Phenix and Divine Wind are the culprits here.
Wildflame
If The Wicked Avatar becomes playable I'll start loving this format. And Tomahawk Karakuri is bawss. Divine Wind FTK..., not so much.
Agro
You're basically afforded 2 routes: Obelisk: Dragons Mermails Constellar Avatar: Prophecy Fire Fists Both routes sound like they can handle Verz well enough, though Ophion is still problematic if you don't get them out first-turn. There's also Slifer, but the two decks it shuts down the best are really just Wind-Ups and Rabbit, decks that I don't think are problematic for the decks that can do this post-LTGY. Also note that you can nuke the field by tributing the Tomahawk Tokens for Obelisk's effect... at the cost of inflicting 4000 damage, of course. Headmaster Monokuma
When I think about it, I would probably run one of both Obelisk and Avatar, simply because no deck is immune to either one entirely. Then side another copy of both of them. I mean, Spellbooks beat Obelisk easily enough, but he can still be a bit of an annoyance for them depending on timing. Same with Avatar when it comes to Mermails and the Mirror match. If I decided to main only one of them, I would go with... Avatar. I feel like the potential to hit those critical Spell and Trap cards is just too good to pass up, and I don't like to press my luck where Spellbooks are involved. Wildflame
Still, I think there are infinitely better options in side decking right now, and don't even mention main decking them :/
