.Spock
I don't know if religious threads are still banned or not. However, I'm sure that seeing as this thread has nothing to do with opposing beliefs, and there should be literally no debate; the mods shouldn't close it. What is your religion, if any? Why did you choose it? And if you are atheist/agnostic; why do you choose to be atheist/agnostic? (Although agnostic is kind of a given, but we'll see.) Personally; Buddhism. I chose to be a Buddhist because it was the only way of life that really seemed to make sense to me.
Grunt Issun
I'm a Deist. Which means that I believe in a higher power, but don't worship said higher power by any means. I also hold firmly to scientific beliefs over any religious ones, and I'm really only a step away from being Agnostic or Atheist, if it weren't for my upbringing and slight superstition. L0SS
I don't have a religion, which might make me an Atheist. But I hate being labelled that way because religious people attempt to argue that Atheism is a religion. If Atheism is a religion, then off is a TV channel. Just sayin'. .Spock
[S]All hail Cthulu[/S] Just saying; that is a pretty inaccurate pentagram. Popular misconception is that a pentagram measure exactly the same all the way around length-ways. In actuality, the downwards prong should be slightly longer. It's sad really. I myself am an atheist, simply because I wasn't brought up with any religion and the existence of a higher power doesn't make sense to me. Zazubat
I chose to become athiest when I realized that religion is a bunch of bullcrap. And that's all I'm gonna say, I am not starting a religious discussing on the internet that's for sure.

Fusion X. Denver
I'm a Deist. Which means that I believe in a higher power, but don't worship said higher power by any means. Basically this. I think what's important behind each religion is teaching others to have faith during the darkest times and other moral lessons that could benefit society if everyone behaved that way. But it shouldn't be shoved down others throats; I wouldn't try converting my kids to being Catholics (which is how my mom and dad's families are) if they didn't believe in it. Aerion Brightflame
I don't actually know what term to use. I used to be an antithiest, till I got an epiphany of sorts and now..? I do have a religious belief, but it's not a conventional one. I mean i still think that organized religion is flawed, but I am accepting of there being some form of higher power, and some form of afterlife. So yeah, I don't know what word to use. Umbra
So yeah, I don't know what word to use. I do believe the official term is "agnostic theist", but what you want to call yourself is up to you. Personally, I would call myself an atheist. I have yet to see any compelling argument for the existence of some divine entity, and some pretty convincing arguments that they're not needed. Exiro
I don't see the debates section anywhere, and apparently debates are banned from this forum, so where do debates go now? Are we not allowed to debate? I believe in infinity. That's about as simply I can put it. And I believe in the is-greater-than sign. It's no use putting it simply, when it has no content. That being said, I'm a panentheist. I believe that we are all part of God, just different aspects of the same, all-encompassing entity. We don't just exist randomly and there's more to it than the big bang, which 'just happened, man'. We exist because a being that's capable of being its own cause willed us to exist. Can something result from nothing? You can say that, first, there was nothing, and then the big bang, but then the former state wasn't actually nothing; it was the implication that the big bang would ensue, which is still something. Thus, you always arrive at a self-causing entity. The fact that life exists, means that that entity exist. The only question is its nature. I believe that the implication that stars will come to existence, requires at least the idea of what stars are. The same goes for planets, plants, bodies, minds, yes, all features of life were there with God to begin with. The existence of anything is only intelligible through an infinite being that contains all of these things.
Just Crouton
I don't follow any religion beliefs, nor am an atheist because I don't care about stuff like that. We exist because we exist, just like plants and animals, and it's best to leave it at that.

Tourmaline
The only true religion is Besides that, I'm not very religious at all. It's often used in such hateful manners that I'm surprised my view hasn't become negative, given the experiences I've had pertaining to it. The intention is originally good, but people tend to twist it in ways that conform to what makes them comfortable.
ListenToLife
I guess I'm an Atheist; it's a label I've generally followed, and it's what I normally identify myself as. But then again, it's hard to be like tha,t, because there are still many different beliefs and theories outside of that of religion, and Atheism isn't a religion anyway. It is merely a standpoint of the question "Is there a god", of which there are 3 positions: Theist, Atheist and Agnostic. Religions are just different belief systems developed from these standpoints: for example, Christianity is Theist while Buddhism(I think) is majority Atheist (I dont think Agnosticism has specific religions). Personally, I have little/no belief in a supernatural being; anything 'supernatural' does not fit into my worldview, because the very definition of the word 'supernatural' is beyond/above nature, and since the definition of natural is existing(to sumarize it), then a supernatural being cannot exist.
