Witch of the Black Forest

Recommended Posts

Alright then, sure. It probably wouldn't be all that widely used in today's format?

Should it come back because of that? Absolutely not.

We are not advocating skill-less play just because the format is skill-less. Witch of the Black Forest can hardly be called balanced simply because it's a bit slower than it used to be. It just has to be sent from the field to the Graveyard in any way, shape, or form, is relatively costless, and exceedingly reusable since it is a monster. All that, AND it searches 3/4 of the card pool.

Cards shouldn't come back on the sole basis that they wouldn't be played as much as people think and you want it. They should come back because they don't cause problems such as loops or OTKs, and more importantly, coming back does not degradate the skill level required to play it in a deck.

(and yes, a LOT of people thought I was crazy and blasphemous for questioning the almighty and unfathomable power of Tsukuyomi)

I remember that. Too many people fish for reasons as to why banned cards should stay banned no matter how sketchy the logic!

(see: my TER post)

That being said I don't want this back. It makes too many cards that are only "balanced" by consistency more consistent. (I put that in quotes because I don't find consistency to be a balancing factor for the most part)

Perfect example being DAD, it's still one of the strongest cards in the game and only isn't played because it's inconsistent nowadays.

Can I get a link to one of these Tsuku threads? I just went through every one until since Jan 2012 and none of them say it should be banned by the majority of posters. (and none of them are by superdooper)

If he made arguments about Tsukuyomi coming back even two years ago, it certainly wasn't on this site.

Didn't Hatcher make "being stupid" against the rules?

If so, why isn't superpoopertrooper banned?

I did. Then I undid it. Like... forever ago.

I still believe that even the most misinformed comment can yield some benefits, as long as they provide a discussion. He's discussing and defending his point in a civilized enough manner. No really reason to call him stupid for it.

On-topic: The argument of "[Decktype] wouldn't run this card" is so stupid. None of those decktypes would want to run Last Turn, Reversal of Worlds, Substitoad, Butterfly Dragon - Elma, Mass Driver, Mind Master, Victory Dragon, Cyber Stein or a large portion of other cards on the list, but that doesn't mean we should be fighting to get those guys off the banlist as well.

I'll agree that the meta is so bad that adding Witch couldn't possibly make it significantly worse, but what the fuck kind of twisted logic do you need where you think that just because the game is bad we might as well make it worse instead of working on making the obvious problem decks not so overpowered?
