"1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn, destroy all monsters in Attack Position except this card. If you have not destroyed a monster with this effect, you may not attack."

In Chapter 33, Jack tried to using the effect of this card to destroy Kalin's "Void Ogre Dragon", but the latter used the effect of "Infernity Bishop" to prevent the destruction on "Void Ogre Dragon" while his "Curse Fire King - Burst Cursed" was destroying. On the next turn, Jack activated "Champion's Majesty" to equipping on this card so he could using it effect without worry and increased it ATK to 6500 instead. He then attacked Kalin with him, ended the game.

Dat mandatory ignition effect.

Well, the manga writers really should work on the timing of this card's activation.  WHEN would the effect take place:  In the beginning of the Main Phase 1 or at the end of it?

They could be weird and make it like Berserk Gorilla, in the sense that you can't end your turn/phase/whatever, unless you do what the card says.

Don't forget that V-Z also has that kind of timing, as does Yubel. It isn't strange, it's kinda normal now.

I'm not even sure what this card effect even says.

The former has an outdated wording, and should be optional, the latter has an option to that mandatory effect that can activate no matter what.

Manga effects have always been far from perfect.

I reckon its effect would go like

At the beginning of your Battle Phase, if this card is in face-up Attack Position, destroy all other Attack Position monsters on the field. If you have not destroyed a monster with this effect, you cannot declare an attack this turn

That would change its functionality. The rulings say it's mandatory and it is in the video games too.

On-topic: So, if I understand this correctly, it has to destroy something with its effect in order for you to attack. Is this true?

EDIT: Didn't see that it was different in OCG. Doesn't change the fact that with a different wording it could still be mandatory. Strange, because there isn't a contradiction marked on wikia.

In conclusion, for the sanity of the game, VWXYZ needs a reprint with an errata. If it was mandatory, it would still probably fizzle if it had no targets because otherwise, the turn would never end.

Maybe its effect would be changed to "At the start of your Battle Phase, destroy all other face-up Attack Position monsters on the field"? I think that would make it fairly balanced and also not as confusing. Something could be tagged on if they really didn't want it to be able to attack when your opponent only has defense position monsters/none.
