Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon

Recommended Posts

The no OPT, and the fact that it can go into Celestial Dragon makes this something I might want to try out, just for fun. Also, since we can now send Dragons to the Graveyard, this card can become a good beatstick, and Castle makes it even stronger if that's your thing. Ah crap, of course I have to not read it right, it doesn't say Blue-Eyes White Dragon, it's that god awful Fusion.
480px-Blue-EyesShiningDragon-TF05-JP-VG.
Dragon-Type/LIGHT
Level 10
3000/2500

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Tributing 1 "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" you control. This card gains 300 ATK for each Dragon-Type monster in your Graveyard. You can negate the effects of Spells, Traps, and Effect Monsters that target this card.

because you know, the reason to even consider using shining dragon is that it's a level 10 body for celestial dragon, not like being untargetable is even good or anything!

this topic got me to actually go on ycm it's that bad

Oh crud. I thought it said Blue-Eyes White Dragon. That kinda ruins this card. Well then, uh nevermind on trying this out.

If its summoning condition was Blue-Eyes, then it would be AMAZING.  But sadly it's the big ultimate dragon.

You could try to summon Ultimate with Dragon's MIrror (getting 3 BEWD in-grave is easy these days), and then sacking it for this.

But really, is a relatively inconsistent 2-card combo that requires a specific situation and then requires you to get rid of your entire BEWD engine (not to mention the dead draws that both this card AND Dragon's Mirror will produce), worth summoning Shining?  I doubt it.  Regular Blue-Eyes.dek is most likely better.

It's kinda sad, I really wanted to try it out, but of course it has to state that card instead. Sigh.

It was hilariously brought to the TCG before BEUD was.

I always wanted it to be a semi-nomi with the Shining Nova effect.

Heck nowadays the Shining Nova could probably work like Stardust (reviving afterwards) and it'd still not be that broken.
